New Wheels procured, and a 2nd hand HU from Warren picked up last weekend

currently it's all white outside, so the wheel fitting might have to wait.

I'll get some pics up & comparative weights

they're not going to be lighter, but they are wider & taller than the existing 14x5.5's

they'll do for winter wheels though - then I will look at something much wider when it's less cold

"I'm not modding this one". Okay, I don't actually remember you saying it, but I bet you thought it at some point of other?

You think there's enough room on the driver's side for a tubby?

It's the best std car I've driven from a handling point of view, but you can always do better

turbo's go on the passenger side :)

I fitted them in the dark on Monday & it's kinda been dark whenever I've been around...

Anyway - nothing too exciting, but they are 'in keeping' with the car - and not all that heavy considering

The end result is a 1" wider wheel, 10mm wider tyre (185 to 195) and the wheels are pushed out a further 13mm from stock filling the arch a lot better & adding some grip. Now it only slides when I tell it to!

Now I just need to bring the body down a little

Roof cover is on as we're expecting 45mph steady winds tonight with rain & I don't want to go to work in a swimming pool on Monday

I'll wash it tomorrow & get a side on shot to compare against the 'stock' wheels (and how crap they are)

Thanks for the comments, I was kinda torn as to keep it retro ish or put some more modern ones on

I say for 'winter' wheels that just so happen to help handling out, and the price (if they were around that what you mentioned) they are a steal!

Tad lower and then sorted? ;)

Echo all the comments - more modern wheels just don't look right on MX5's IMHO

Watch that hood cover thing doesn't mess your arches up.

6' dead, but with longer legs & bigger feet :)

there's some taller members on the MX5 forum I use, and putting my bucket in gave me a lot more space. Tempted to find an Elise seat, as it's less compromised than a proper bucket.

Roof cover is OK on the arches, minor scuffing exists from the cords, but nothing noticeable
