dammit.

at least the rear ARB isn't a PITA to fit. added to the list - I know they make a massive handling difference, you've convinced me about the compliance.

Is it just me, that kinda thinks that most Leon owners (and a fair few Ibiza owners too Im guessing) would love this as their 'toy' with all the mods going in/on, yet to Mark , its the *sensible daily*
;)

Yeah, its strange that the term "sensible daily" seems to also mean "well modded".

Im now waiting for the " found a new downpipe, but wait, theres a shiney new sports cat stuck on it...." bit.

That was an easy sell once I reminded myself how crap the standard DP was.

I just hadn't lubed up the nuts / studs so didn't buy one ;)

Maybe after holidays...

Morning m0rk are you still doing the cruise control today?

If you are is there any chance of useful photographs - going to attempt mine tomorrrow evening and the guide with the kit is for the golf - I am sure I would get there but you know what its like to see someone else do it first shame your not closer to me I would have popped around to give a hand and learn the tips/ tricks of this job.

Cruise all fitted, I reworked a few area's compared to the manual that comes with the stalk.

I'll take off the trim (now it all works) and photograph the work

All up - 2.5hrs and would have done it in an 1hr 45mins if my neighbour hadn't talked to me :)

All works perfectly, a quick run out see's just over 40mpg on a flat, windless motorway at 70mph - should be perfect for the 3000miles I'll do on the roadtrip from next weekend!

Talking of road trips - he's the 'rough' journey, without the day trips etc

It's not so easy as the Leon, but with the right instructions it's straight forward - 4/5 wires just need routing somewhere.

The road trip is actually over 16 days, we're stopping for a few days in certain places.

Not forgetting
Ingolstadt - Audi
Stuttgart - Porsche, Mercedes
Munich - BMW
Berchtesgarten - Hitlers last retreat
Road to Lake Garda - Stelvio Pass (maybe)
Lake Garda - Quantum of solice opening scene
Road from Lake Garda - Monza

Bad bits are fuel prices in EU (except Austria) are extremely high at ~140c/l (though Austria has it at about 110c/l and the £-€ is about 1.08 at the moment

To say I am looking forward to it is an understatement!

Found my old Forge Optimus DV in the loft yesterday, good as new. Whipped off the 007P, which was well skanky & in need of a service, and replaced with the Optimus.

Been out playing in it earlier, and it seems a lot quicker now. Might go & do some logs, but not sure I have much time before I need to shoot to Glasgow tonight.

Road trip is going well, I think I'll do a separate thread on it though

Leon has been faultless, eating up the miles & cruising at 30mpg at 100mph, testing my testicle size at approaching 140mph in places.

The cruise control has made 3hr drives a doddle, and returning some amazing mpg at times (just drove into Salzburg at 42mpg)

Lapped twice at the ring on Friday, once four-up which wasn't too bad at all :)
