I didnt see any change in my boost , it hits 24psi, and holds about 21 happily.

I even refitted the SMIC after mork thought the Laguna IC was restrictive only to find the boost was the same as i originally thought.

SIngle pass, but the temps from what ive seen are now lower than the forge one ive logged.!

This is Bullshit........

I told you to refit the SMIC because you had boost issues to eliminate any question of it being the FMIC. How can you say I'm slating the product when you had a blocked up CAT?

NOT for a case to prove the FMIC wrong, just to take it out of the equation.

Mike told me that post fitting the FMIC the car wasn't boosting well, now it's 'before the fmic' too

It makes no sense at all to problem solve by changing bits - that aren't the cause of the fault.

You need to log it to determine if it's a low boost request, or a difference in Requested to delivered boost

then it will depend up on the outcome of that what path to take.

could be a faulty N75, a kinked pipe, leaky pipe, someone's messed with teh actuator nut all sorts.

how thick is the laguna intercooler, it looks very thin...... which I can't imagine can be too great with sustained usage and intake temps

and persumably it was only ever designed to take 150bhp or whatever a soot chucker Laguna puts out

Just chucked EGT's into the mix as well, possible cause of flash's cat failure too?

Not sure what EGT's you see on sustained load

This is me being really dumb.... but how can it damage the cat.... surely then people that have got Forge FMIC's on but no remap are doing damage too??

High EGT's can melt the cat.. what I think mork is wondering is what sort of EGT's are being made with the laguna fmic on... compared to the FORGE. however.. the car is likely to make higher EGT's on std SMIC

OK... what are EGT's?? sorry not techy....

I didn't say it was fmic specific, perhaps suggesting at a boost drop issue being related to a cat failure (more air flow, hotter at higher rpm than expected)

Sorry.. didn't say you did.. am just trying to understand how it could be linked to it.. I'm not that techy and would like my knowledge to grow.. sorry..

trying to work out why there is such a disparity in boost for Mike's car

(whilst getting shitty emails)

I won't ask about the sh1tty emails...

Fair enough.. like I siad I'm just trying to understand how it could have an effect

hi !
i fitted mine yesterday, but the fmic has a crack between the fins...
after some meters the car turns off :(
tomorrow i'll order a new one from renault.
but this is my properly question:
how did u geht the FMIC so high? i wasn't able to edge it behind the crashbar so much. is it all clamped by the crashbar? i thought it'll be very hard and maybe the FMIC gets destroyed...
hope someone can help me and sorry for my s***** english ;D

greets

can i ask about the shitty emails? it sounds funny

i just read some were that supposedly temps were lower on the laguna part over the forge part? how was this compared? same time? same car? or atleast same mods? what im getting at is how fair was the test?

i find it very hard to believe and it has nothing to do with being a forge loyalist
