I have a 1.4tsi and done 400 miles with 2bars still showing on the gauge and 100 mile range remaining.

Had to fill up at that point otherwise I may not have completed my journey the next day :D

Do you find you get more range through town than you do sitting at 70-80 on the motorway?

100% No, town driving is very uneconomical. My journey to work would be 10 miles of normal roads but around 40mph the whole way then I do 15 miles on the motorway. It's obviously reversed on the way home.

Traffic is light in the mornings so fuel consumption always goes up where as on the way home it's good on the motorway then drops when I've to start sitting in traffic.

Best fuel consumption I've had was on A roads for the 42 miles and stuck behind Sunday drivers (pic below)

I think my long term mpg is about 47mpg over 1200 miles.

I Have 184Tdi and get an avarage 560
My best has been 670 so far

I struggle to get 470 with the red low warning light flashing, normally between 420-470 miles on a 1.6 tdi dsg
Most of the time I really do just plod it around (in D not sport mode), which was the whole point of me buying a 1.6 tdi, makes the Co emissions based tax figures & factory mpg figures a bit of a joke really
When people are getting another 250 miles per tank out of a bigger 2.0 tdi

mines 90% motorway driving, 18 mile commute each way and very rarely traffic build up

i had a 150fr before my 184 and strange it may sound the 184 is better on diesel, if i drive home like a sunday driving granda at 65 the mpg on the trip sometimes as high as 64mpg, but a typical run 70-80 the trips usually 54-55mpg

anybody that does lots of long runs i could see getting 600 plus to a tank

Mine is a 45mile each way commute mostly on Dual carrigeway with town driving at one end and some B road fun the other (driving like a saint I have seen 70MPG
normal driving 55-60
but if I go out and have some real fun can go as low as 40-45 still miles better than the 2.0l dci Meg the Leon replaced

If I drive like a saint I can get 42 -44 mpg
if I have some real fun or drive on the unrestricted autobahn it goes as low as 17-22 mpg :D

6000 miles on the clock and a lifetime 54mpg

I am getting 540 before the red light comes on and my best run yet was a 40mile run home where I got 68mpg

I went to Norfolk last week down A and B roads with 5 adults on board plus suitcases and got 57mpg

The car does get better as the fuel in the tank drains, but I always fill mine to brim, it might pay to only fill to half a tank

Oh its a 184 FR ST

I consistently get between 400-430 from my 1.8 TSI, very happy with that given the decent performance it offers.

Not sure as I do not usually let the tank run right to the bottom. After owning a Golf 1.9 TDI 31mpg is not enough but then 180PS in the Leon is quite addictive! ;)

I do 670km per tank with my ST 1.8TSI Manual. 2000km on the clock. mostly city driving.

I get similar on my 1.8 but I have to go quite gently. Getting 40 - 47 mpg with no or rarely spirited driving. I do like to have fun though so it drops down to 30s occasionally (read often) lol
