Just did a trip from Richmond to Nottingham on Tesco RON 99. stuck on A406 for 2 hours then the rest of the way smooth, mostly hover around 70 mph once on M1 (with exception of those road work 50 mph). I averaged 59.3mpg with air-con on 50% with fan speed 2 most of the way. this is with 2014 1.2 TSI DSG estate. im pretty happy with the figure.

About 250 - 300 from a tank 55L depending on how I drive the beast, Cupra 290 DSG. if you want a car that delivers a performance then you pay the price.

Agreed, get about this depending on how I drive, usually short journeys, 12 miles to work every morning. Motorway journeys will probably push this up, but they are short and not very often, however when I am on the motorway I will open the beast up!

I do have an oil burner. A 184 FR remapped to 235bhp and 480Nm of tourqe. It's quick enough for me. And on a long journey while doing between 70 and 80 mpg I get an average of 68mpg. So I'm tremendously happy with it. I just might look for something a bit lager as I've gone from a Passat. But love everything about the Seat.

I get between 450-500 usually from my FR 184, my excitable right foot being the reason for not getting more, drove to Reading and back which for me was in the region of 320 miles on less than half a tank before, obviously made up for the economy when I was back locally and still only managed 500 from the tank. I run standard shell diesel, no other products

Average with mixture of stop start commute and dual carriageway 56mpg
Steady 70mph motorway and country roads 67mpg. Good but nowhere near the official fantasy figures

Not too shabby on the return either.

I did a similar journey 3 in the car + luggage...managed just under 60mpg, but average speed was just over 60mph  was a 2.0TDI DSG.

Means your return leg 'theorethical' tank range would be ~ 660 miles..

The fuel light came on at 65miles left to go..... When I filled it up I got 47 litres in. So 3L left in tank to do 55miles I guess.

I wanted to try and get over the 700 mile mark but my miles to go was dropping to quick. It dropped from 70 to 55 in less than 2 miles... Need to get used to car first before I risk taking it to zero

Has anyone seen if 97-98 RON fuel has made a difference (long term rather than just an occasional fill up)?

I've been running V-Power on every fill up for the past 8 months probably. Noticed a difference of about 2-3mpg improvement... whether that's worth the cost difference... probably not but I've started so I'll finish! For me knowing that i'm putting the best stuff into my car out weighs the few extra quid it costs. I'm a marketeers dream! It's my car, no finance, so hopefully a way of keeping it in top working order.
