Around 500 miles, but depends - if it's a long weekend drive i get more:

400 miles to the tank quite reliably now - 300 ST 4Drive - though that is once the red light blinks not just on.
Impressive and even more so considering extra weight with 4drive. I'm lucky to achieve 350 miles from a tank in my 280 St driving like a granny

I could give the lowest number per tank but I'll feel like s**t for revealing it.

On a trip from East London to York, then to Leeds, return to London, stop by Cambridge. Few days after East London to Stansted and Back, then only the low fuel warning went 'ping' @ 534 miles. 90% of driving was 70-75mph.

So possibly just under 600 miles would have been possible. MPG since refuel was 57-58mpg.

Tank was 2/3 Shell regular diesel before I topped it up till 'click' with Shell VPower Diesel.

Mine's a 2.0TDI DSG with 16inch rims...apparently DSG on these TDIs are slighly less economical than their manual counterparts.

TBH this is true of my daily use - to work and back. If you throw in a spirited drive on the weekend 300-350 is all i can manage.

In my 1.6 tdi i get around 550-580 thats with commutes sitting in traffic for around 15-30 minutes each way

i could probably get around 650 if i drove like a granny

seen this number once when doing a 300 mile journey and very little stops

My journey to and from work consists of 99% motorway. My last tank, which was my first full tank, as the car is still new to me did 620miles and computer said I stil had 105 miles left to go.
I did it with minimal weight in car, tyres at 38psi and tail gating as many lorries as possible...
Air con used as and when I needed.. Probably 50% of the time
It's the 1.2 petrol dsg.

Doing 53 - 55mph does indeed increase your fuel economy dramatically..... If you have the will power to do it...

I have just filled up again so am trying to match or better that. Will take pics.... If I remember..

Similar figures for me, I generally fill up at around 550-580 when I'm passing a cheaper filling station. Where I live in rural Wales, fuel is expensive so I take my chance to fill when I can.

My best tank is 621 miles in distance. My best average for a tank is 63mpg.

Here's a couple of pictures showing what I've done over the last two days.
For reference, my trip computer is currently over reading by approximately 1% against my brim to brim calculated records that I've kept since the car was new. I have the correction factor set to 105% using OBDeleven for those who are interested....

I am currently running a Bluefin remap and I add 30ml of Archoil for every 50L of fuel.
It's a 184 DSG FR ST by the way.

So that's a predicted tank range of 736 miles!
I won't get that as I have 150 mile round trip on Saturday night with my car packed with a large drum kit, amplifiers and a bass guitar. Oh, and a bass guitarist (better not forget him)
The 71mpg actually went up to 72 but I couldn't pull over to take a picture.

It is great stuff, I use 6850. I'm so impressed I'm tempted to have a swig before I start playing those drums!!!

What speeds are your 99% highway journeys? 60-70 mph?

My typical journeys are 17 mile motorway commute twice a day, and a few shorter runs at the weekend.

Rarely get more than 450 miles per tank averaging in the low to mid 40's in terms of mpg. Had 56 mpg once on a 6 hour run at 70 mph which is the best I've ever seen.

I find that even moderate throttle usage drastically affects the economy, and to get the best figures I need to idle around 50-60 mph. Life's too short.

Not particularly impressive, especially since the car isn't very fast in the first place.

I typically get in the region of 500 miles per tank out of my 1.4 eco tsi fr give or take 20 miles or so dependant on what traffic is like on my commute. Typically 50-60 Not for 20 miles of a road and up to 80 for a short couple mile stretch of dual carriageway.

Haha, I wish..... No, I am mostly tail gating around 53 - 56 mph...

One of my good friends wife does that, usually behind a Tesco/Sainsbury/Waitrose/Asda or John Lewis goods truck...or a National Express bus (Free wifi too!).

He claims she's expert at using the 'slipstream'

Similar for me, mine is set to 107% and under-reads by about 1%.

Your figures are pretty amazing for a 184. I struggle to get 60+ on any kind of run let alone 70+! Do you consciously work at 'hypermiling'?
