all the brakes are the same as mk2 golf gti 8v and early 16 brakes are thesame and low engine ibiza 239mm and the 16v gtis have 256mm which same and coupe corby and the g60's same and cupras etc 280mm.... and ford galaxy rear calipers fit vw's as well

2.0 16v Gti's were 280mm i think it was the 8v's were 256mm but the calipers are the same just bigger frames

the cupra sports were dressed up end of run gti's with less of the luxuries etc to keep the cost below the Gti but thats a whole other forum page/book/encyclopedia

either way it all pretty much bolts from one to the other anyway so you can what ya like :)

If we're going to be pedantic, the Polo is 6n, the Ibiza is 6k!

Ahhh ook who knows so much eh? Not quite the 6K and 6N Polos are different models if you want to be really really pedantic. 6K prefix was used by VW for the Polo Variant and the Classic (really a Vario and a Cordoba).

Completely different cars (aside from the dashboard). VW Caddy van and Stinca also use the same front end.

The lower arms are Mk2 golf, the sump plug is the same as the VR6 on the 16v lump.

The drop links from the golf don't fit because the Ibiza needs to be slighly offset.

Polo saloons, estates and mk2 caddy van share the same parts. All wider than 6N polo

Here's my van. Coilovers that i fitted will also fit mk2/3 golfs, corrado's. My van also runs 256mm brakes as standard.

exhuast will fit mk2 and mk3's.

i'm sure the suspension is different though. the mk3 top mount has 3 bolts securing it to the turret but the mk2 has 1 big nut in the centre with a top cap.

mk3 front end coversion if complete panel/lamps/wings and bonnet will bolt on straight - towing eye and radiator mount is only modification i have seen needed but the vehicle was a tdi so possibly model specific

rear end, tailgate will bolt on BUT rear amps are a different shape so reuuires mk3 lamp panels so a lot more work involved

seem to remember mk3 suspension will fit but top mounts need changing - ill try and find the coilover thread i saw it in to check that

mk3 20vt exhaust is a bolt on to the 16v - and sounds good too

mk3 Cupra steering wheel and airbag bolts straight on a mk2 (possibly the best mk2 mod you can do in my opinion)
