I'm pretty sure that these are the terminals for the speaker connectors, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/50-x-Junior-Power-Timer-Terminals-Contacts-Genuine-TE-Part-Part-No-927770-3/140987003253?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 , they do different wire sizes so you might want to contact the seller for further info.
As for the humming you may have to reposition the route of the sub wiring, or put some special rings around the wires (I can't remember what they are called).
Thanks for the link to the terminal crimps. The humming only happens when car is running so I'm thinking maybe my gnd/earth point isn't good enough. As for fm radio being not very good sound I think one of the wires on connector is bad as I do recall one of them bent like it was about to break. I thinking of getting a dab aerial that goes on front windscreen so won't need fm anymore.

I've got a vagcanpro tool now, what more can I do with it that vcds tool can't?

I know very little about VagCanPro, the genuine version is supposed to be very useful.
Ok, it's not the Genuine version but works ok with it's software. It's alot harder to use than vcds. I purchased it as went I upgraded with this retrofit most things are installed but sports performance menu isn't as was told it can't be done with vcds but VagCanPro will enable

I've heard that you can enable Seat Sound with it, so I'm thinking if you did that you could put your connections back to how they were and use the Seat Sound subwoofer pins (9 & 13) to connect your sub amp to and fit a front centre speaker to pins 10 & 14 plus you would have the dedicated subwoofer sound menu.

So if I was to get seat sound enabled the middle pin 2,6 and 3,7 would be like my old system where front speakers/tweeters shared 4 wires.

My Alpine subwoofer with build amp has left and right wired inputs so how would this work?

Sorry, I didn't realise that :(

I don't think the sound would be very good like that, I had Seat Sound activated on my ST with MIB2 High but didn't fit the centre speaker or sub for quite a long time afterwards and the sound was not as good as it was before activating S/S.

So with seat sound activated the 1-8 pins on brown connector for front and back speakers and tweeters like how my original system was apart from centre speaker and sub.. surely with Seat Sound activated the middle pins 2,6 and 3,7 will be for front speakers and tweeters?

Yes, but because it changes the sound parameters I think it sends most of the bass to pins 9 & 13, try it if you want. I don't think I have anymore to offer on this. Maybe someone else can help?

I think maybe like you said it's probably not worth changing it back and activating seat sound. I will probably add some new wire to the pins 2,6 and 3,7 for front pillar tweeters. And with 9,10,13,14 already connected for front speakers it should sound good. Would I need to change any settings again in vcds once tweeters are rewired?

If your VCDS settings are as in post #58 & 59 then that's it, no need to change anything, good luck :)
Yes I set those setting so that's good I don't need to change anything. Do you think some normal black/red speaker cable would be ok to use on pillar tweeters.

I don't see why not, if it's old stuff check that the 'copper' wires are not blackened, I had some supposedly good speaker cable which was quite old but the copper inside was black even a few metres along from the ends, I bought some genuine thin wall OFC stuff from Amazon or eBay for my subwoofer.

I'd buy new cable, so the current settings for my 8 speaker system with the 5QA035858 unit is the nearest for sound like my old unit? Do you think I'd notice much difference if I wire the tweeters onto 2,6 and 3,7 From what I have setup now?
