MK3 Clutch - is it light or heavy?

Hey folks,

I've been driving 2 different Cupra's today, both MK3's.

My own, and SeanyK's

Mine is 2000 X Reg, his 2002 '02' Reg.

The clutch feels very light on mine in comparison to his, but we don't know if his has been changed before as he has only really just bought the car, and can't find any receipt of it being changed, but that doesn't mean it hasn't of course

Are the sports clutches heavier than standard ones?

The pedal isn't massively heavier, but it's definately noticeable, mine is very light to press and release, his is heavier to press/release.

Any way to tell?

Heavier pedal is a sign of a failing clutch, we changed ours and it helped

Mine is a 1.4 and the clutch is VERY heavy
The bite point is quite high too

Compared to any other cars

i thought the cupra clutches were heavy because they are dual mass??

Hey folks, I actually did the 'clutch test' thing last night.

I put the pedal to the floor in 3rd gear up a hill at about 30mph and it took ages to go any quicker, also the same in 4th.
