I ordered a bearing for it on Saturday, so bearings are availible, just wanting to know if i can do it in the driveway myself some evening, or if i need to do it on sat morning when I can get hold of someone with a press. :s

strange that a hub would have to be replaced for a wheel bearing going :(

The bearing comes as a complete unit built into the hub. I replaced mine both sides end of last yr and believe me when i say its far easier just swapping the whole thing than trying to get the old bearings and race out then squeezing a new one in.
I'm sure what you'll of ordered will be hub an' all.

Yeah its about £60 a side for the hub complete. I was told that they didn't make a bearing kit for them so who knows what you've got coming. Still do-able on the drive just a pain in the ass without a press - as i found out when i put a front bearing in a few weeks ago

i fitted the whole hub on sat night, couldn't be bothered trying to get the old bearing shell's out, so bearings are available for these, but i just didnt have the time or patience to remove old bearings and replace with the new ones :)

was making the std whirring noises, just jack the car up, and spin each wheel individually, it should make the same noise as your hearing on the road, if not making the noise, check for the wheel that has most play in it, i.e put hands on the wheel at 3oclock and 9 oclock positions and mush with one hand and pull with other, if bearing is gone it will most likely rock back and forth.
