Hello folks... I introduced myself a few days ago, I've recently got a new black MkIV Cupra (1.8T) and I'd really like to get an induction kit. I do plan to get a Revo as soon as I can save the readies but I want to get a throatier sound from a different induction kit.

Any advice on which make? And where I can source one? I have checked to see if this has been covered already on the site and can't find anything - apologies if it has! Can someone point me in the right direction?

Cheers all, Domster

As Fez boy said 'search and you will find the answers you are looking for' however if this helps i have the same car and you will see what i have done in my signature.
I haven't got a dynatwist, i just settled for a green panel filter (£30-40) but it has made a really good improvement in not only responsiveness but also the induction sound.
Revo (£400) will obviously improve your performance alot and will make the standard exhaust sound lurvely. My mate says that it roars when i pass him.

The forge 007p recirculation valve (£80) keeps the power available to you better so again improves responsiveness.

So all in all just over £500 will improve what is already a powerful car and is a good base to move onto other things like uprating exhaust, clutch, Revo stage 2 etc.

One thing i have to say though, be prepared to go through front tyres every 6000 miles!

Don't forget there is ram air, smaller than the dynatwist. The dynatwist is a bit big for the cupra engine, it fits but there is a tight bend in the induction pipe.
(Both From Badger 5)

Also there is Pipercross Viper, don't know to much about that. (Awesome GTI)

Then there is the smoothing out of the existing air box, and putting a green filter panel in there instead of the OEM one.

As for the DV, as kohmikey said forge 007p recirculation valve, BUT WARNING DO NOT INSTALL THIS IN REVERSE, it sound :w4nk:

Speak to Bill at badger5 and he will sort you out a Dynatwist induction kit that will fit your car.

There are not many officially listed kits for the Mk4 1.8T, but bill does make a custom one up for it. sounds lovely though

You may also want to search the net for info on BMC induction kits. They do do a kit or the mk4 ibiza, but when you search, for some reason BMC think the mk4 is actually a mk3 and list it as such.
Eurostyling are the official importer of BMC air filters, pricey but well worth it.

Then if you want it to sound good go for the Milltek ful system including the Downpipe and cat and non reosnated centre box. That way you will get a nice backfire on overunn and when you change gear.

Thanks guys - great advice and much appreciated. Have spoken to Bill at Badger5 and ordered the green panel filter to keep me going untl I can afford the Revo. Going to look into the forge 007p recirculation value too! Before I ask what a recirc value does - I'm going to search the forum!

I can see this car is going to cost me money... ;o)

Thanks again, Domster

Agree with Ant here, pops and bang at around 5500 rpms when changing gear, and sometimes it does it in low rev range too.

Domster,

Congrats on your choice of car. I have the same. How much was the green panel filter mate?

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris: Well pleased with the car. It has just covered 700 miles and is starting to loosen up!

Looking forward to getting the Green panel filter too - it was £36 + p&p from Badger5 (www.badger5.co.uk)

Happy driving, Domster
