VOSA states. "A car with HID lights MAY also have headlight washers and self leveling, which must be checked and in working order IF fitted."
I think the confusion and scare mongering comes from Northern Ireland where the DVA (their version of VOSA) has stated
"A car with HID lights MUST HAVE headlight washers and self leveling" Not much good if you've got a Mitsy Evo VIII with factory HIDs

was a ********* to fit as i put them in they didnt work but after some research figured out i had to mess with the wires. Barly noticeable when they are on,
