I was having some trouble with my Ibiza Cupra TDi and all signs pointed to the MAF sensor. It wld work ok if i wiggled the connection for a while, then it gradually got worse.

I bought a Merc 220cdi maf (fancied givign it a go), fitted it and the car was back to normal, apart from the off boost performance was dire, and boost didnt hit until 2250 rpm.

I have now purchased the correct sensor for the car (got fed up ragging it everywhere) and fitted it. It ran fine for the first day, now it is back to juddering, and its a lot worse than it ever was before. I've tried wiggling the connector, tried connector cleaner, WD-39, dielectric grease, and nothing has made any difference. If anything its getting worse.

While running with the merc sensor, it constantly logged a fault code, so I've cleared that. That diesnt help either.
If i re-fit the merc sensor, it runs fine, other than the delayed boost and off boost performance being crap.

So does this point to the new MAF being faulty? Or is this problem totally unrelated to the MAF and when i fit the new one, it just suddenly shows it up?

I have VAG COM so can do logs if someone tells me which blocks they would like to see (bit of a vag com newbie)

I'm pretty confident, that its not a boost leak. I have tried disconnecting the EGR and it makes very little difference.

I'm stumped, but hopefully someone here can help.

Original symptoms were: car ran fine but between 2750rpm and 3250 rpm the ecu was holind the power back. it was very on and off.

Now the symptoms are the same but between 2000rpm and 3500rpm, then its fine til 4000rpm, and then it really cuts the power after that.

I can log block 11, but like I said above, I'm pretty confident, that its not a boost leak. I dont want to come across as arrogant saying that, but I have had a boost leak before and the car gets very sooty, and I wldnt expect the ecu to cut power with a boost leak. The car would run smooth but underpowered, rather than having plenty of power but being electronically cut.
