My cupra r has failed on emissions

Fast idle speed
Engine speed = 5.14% fail-0.30
Lambda = 0.85 fail 0.97 min 1.03max

Second fast idle speed
Co level =2.93% fail-0.30
Lambda = 0.91 fail 0.97 min 1.03 max

Natural idle test fail
Co level = 2.93% fail 0.50

Any solutions on on what I can do?

confirm with vcds what your cars b1s1 lambda says... on engine, block 031 it should show its actual lambda as it "thinks" its controlling to...

if there's an exhaust leak where additional air can be sucked in it can influence the tailpipe mot probe, however its reporting yours is rich not lean...

any present faultcodes?
water temp ok?
egt probe ok? fill over fuel if its faulty and thinks its hot

That could cause the emissions to be high. The car will dump more fuel in to get the car up to temperature. Change the stat and temperature sensor

That's kind of when I was thinking, the mot station is less than 5 mins away from me and the car defo wasn't up to temperature,

Would CCDs pick up a lambda fault?

just ran vcds and it came back with this

1 Fault Found:
17861 - Exhaust Gas Temp Sensor 1 (G235): Open or Short to Plus
P1453 - 35-00 - -
Readiness: 0000 0000

EGT temp sensor. goes onto the turbo. that could cause overfuelling if it was faulty. when the egt sensor senses the turbo and manni are at a certain temperature the car will dump more fuel in to cool things down.

Cheers brad

I was reading this late last night and got me thinking, before the mot I changed the dipstick plastic holder and I had to unplug the egt sensor to get to it and guess what? I forgot to plug it back in :whistle:

Time for the re test me thinks
