Ahh - little bit out of the way then. I'm near Crewe. Seen a couple of ovni Leons round here lately so was curious. Planning on having a meet (it may get changed given no one is replying again) soon - if you're interested?
Ended up with a second car instead. Got money back from the credit card. Kinda lost the will to spend huge amounts of time on it though I'll be giving it one last polish and wax before winter. Leon's a toy now; the poor work they did did kinda take something away from it for me.
Was on track at Oulton today, the first time I've really ever tried to use it *properly*
Conditions were still a little shitty so it still wasn't as quick as desired, but I've learnt a lot about the way the car handles.. Probably sometime around spinning it - Got caught by surprise, everything else was pretty much as I'd hoped
Splitter's come out a bit but probably needs replacing anyway, and she's filthy, but it's a good day and I saw a whopping 11.8mpg over the course of the day
Good effort.
I maintain that your not driving hard enough till you spin out.
To know where the limit is you have to pass it.
Fuel economy does take a kicking but the adrenaline rush is well worth it.
I'm sure you appreciate your car far more now for the beast it is.
I'm sure others on the day have a more healthy respect for the LCR too.
I would have LOVED to have seen what it's like in the dry, 100% have more respect for it since doing it, total beast, and puts everything to the test.
If anything my front tyres were a little low - not on the wear marker but they were struggling for grip on full power, on the greasy track I was spinning up to 6k RPM, awesome to see how far you can push it though - never been totally confident about corners again since the Ibiza crash, but that brought a lot back
Couple of people commented upon the LCR, it's definitely won some respect, friends didn't expect it to handle as well as it did either
Went to the Trafford Centre to finally swap out my iMac, went in a good mood.
Found a space, let a Merc pull out and swung into where he'd been to turn round for my boot to face outward.
Started to reverse, left hand down - checked my mirrors to avoid the cars parked by me -- check.
....crunch.
One of these ****ers in my blind spot.
Was riding the clutch at the time, so you can gather how fast that was.. we heard nothing before a final crunch... Expecting the bumper to be ****ed.. I got out to find this :'(
yikes dave, not having much luck there, luckily that believe it or not it not too bad you can even fusor the bumper saving having to buy a new one, looks like the door gap has closed up from the pic has it???
It has Jake - yeah. I don't think there'll be anything structural (or would hope not at the speed i was going!!!) Boot also looks out of alignment - just all bent out of shape I think. Not looking forward to the bill.. though at least it's not pressing that it's done as quick as possible now..
Going to try and pick up a used bumper, it's been pulled and twisted more than I'd be happy with repairing I think. Got one in my sights
