My cars rear windscreen went bang

when i rang the claims department i said that if it wasnt secured overnight or new glass fitted tonight then i could and would not be liable for any theft from/of the car. the woman agreed so me happy bout that...just not the 70 quid excess!!!
no idea how it happened either... i didnt have the rear windscreen de-mister on....only the climate control..at about 23degrees....any ideas?

There's a few Mk2 Leons that have had their rear screens shattered lately (mine included).

Possible weak point on the glass or the thermal shock has degraded the glass over time.

there was a thread somewhere about this a little while ago i remember reading! has happened to a few peoples cars. will see if i can find it as there was an explanation about it
