anybody else done this and noticed any increase in noise? throttle response etc??

Cheers

Jimski

didnt notice any more throttle response... but it is a lot louder than standard airbox and air feed. the turbo spooling up is louder and so is the recirc valve. not as loud as an open cone tho

Hi, Im probably in the wrong thread but does anybody know if its possible to get a replacement Cold air feed pipe/hose for the Maxflow induction kit for a LCR?

Took the filter apart to clean and the metal hose riped in half

All i have now is a cold air induction kit without the cold air feed

Thanks!

Hi pal, its 75mm, I went down b&q and purchased 100mm duct. Obviously being bigger i modified it slightly. It fits fine, getting cold air running into it now and that induction noise is reduced. Sounds less like a vr6. Normaly i could feel the heat inside the cone after running the car for a bit but now its just slighty warm which is great. Cheap diy for £4.88. Works just as well.

Thanks anyway mate.

just dont this mod,not as hard as i first imagined!used a 76mm air feed same as this guy and it fits a treat in the hole already there.the turbo whine is definately louder and car generally sounds a little bit meatier, throttle response seems slightly better but could just be me lol.currently waiting for my green panel filter from bill hopefully this makes more of a difference.worth doing definately, can be a painfull experiance tho!!!!

is there a "guide" or a "how to" on how to do this.

i dont have any experience and wouldnt be comfortable doing this with a guide

i know i would prob do some maga damage :O

firstly recieved my panel filter and u can definately hear the difference, actually sounds like a turbo now!Greg this is a very easy mod to do just very time consuming, i thought the same as you mate.
i ordered my air feed off ebay (76mm means you have to cut less of the airbox away to make it fit and you dont need to move the battery).
its pretty simple really i just used a decent set of pliers to snap all the fins off and then used sand paper to smooth off the left overs. i personally dnt think you need to go stupidly mad smoothing the inside as i cant see it making a phenominal difference, look inside your airbox and you will see what everyone removes.
i did the top one day and the bottom when the airfeed turned up as you need to remove the box to fit the feed and to smooth the bottom.
just allow PLEANTY of time mate and dont rush it.

Thanks 4 the advice as i will be smoothing my airfilter box and putting a green cotton panel filter in it this weekend.
