My cupra isnt boosting

im having simular problem,nearly got another car today as almost given up on the ibiza

have you had a look at the air intake temp sensor?mine was covered in a orange/brown hard oil deposit

weres that...Just took the engine bay apart nearly the Smic pipes near it are full of oil
But the charge pipe is clear bit sooty but no oil..

the Metal tip part is full of oil aswell right near the turbo blades...

Gotta look at what can cause it to stop boosting..

ait sensor is on inlet manifold by the throttle body.one allen key and undo plug easy todo.see if is coated in oil.
not sure if anyone has an idea of blocked breather maybe?

i dont have carb cleaner at hand can i use owt else like wd40 or vodka

ait sensor wont make it overboost,is it the standard n75? as need to get it right way round. heard the longer pipe should go back into the intake after the maf

just used wd40 and then used some of the misses vodka nice and clean now.

gonna take my tip off now and see if there is any movement in the shaft were the blades are

to rule out a naff turbo

You should be able to wiggle it but not have excessive movment.

Wont be able to get to it tonight will take a while...

would off thought 133k in the turbo would need replacing?
The N75 is the right way around so that it ruled out..

So tonight ive ruled out

Boost leak
n249 bypass
MAF
CTS
AIT
ECU and MAP

Just the turbo unit left...All my SMIC pipes are ful out oil the inner walls are...This a sign of a knackered Turbo/wastegate

Could my coilpack be playin up?Got no codes but been told the CEL flickers when on boost Which my has been...I just thought it was the TCS

yes it could be worth swapping coils packs,check are on tight free from water/corrosion.

This is overboosting tho...it will boost fine but wen it comes on boost ect the pressure builds from the rpm it will go straight in to limp mode

if floor it in 1st it will get to 6krpm wen the feels stops spinning then go in to limp mode you can feel the car just stop...

I noticed this problem when on the motorway givin it beans kinda was missing high up around 80mph when on boost..
Then it got worse from there...Floored it came on boost then off then straight back off then straight back on like a juddering surging motion

Now i get boost to a serton rpm then it goes in to limp mode but i have no faults codes sayin its the maf....Only misses when driving hard..

Right Little bit more info:

just been to the petrol station and bumped in to a old mate from skool was my best mate at the time but he moved away anyway we got chatter what were doin with are lifes and any children ect

And he said hes a Ford and Jap tuner from chorleystreet garage in bolton which i know very well...
He's been doin it for around 4years now as he did motorsport engineering to get some experiance ect
Anyway so i explained my problems and what us lot on SCN have told me to try and what i have replaced ect..

So he followed me back to my house were i took him out in it...He kinda now what was up with it but didnt say anything till he looked more in too it..
He even said its goin in to "Safe Mode" With out me sayin anything.

He looked at my Pipes but was took dark and the wind was pretty bad so couldnt see if there is any leaks...He said that a small leak can cause havoc on turbo cars dew to vaccum ect..

So i showed him the oil in the SMIC and AFM pipe and other pipes that ive found oil...But he did say the turbo is workin as its spooling up as you can hear it but its cutting out as you now..But cant be 100% sure till more evidance was gathered..
Wasnt smoking ect,He said just keep an eye on it ....

Anyway then he said something about the ''MAP SENSOR" this does something to the boost?Now he did say that VAG isnt his line of work but said just look in to it...Were is it and what does it do as he didnt explain fully..

As a mondeo st 240 had the same symptons that he looked at his work,As it was goin in to the ford version of ''LIMP MODE"..Safe gaurd or something...

So were is the map sensor and what does it do...

Someone on this thread try the map sensor..so im gonna look in to it
