My cupra isnt boosting

the map sensor is under the battery connected to a plastic pipe thats part of the intercooler system.

mine went after i had exhaust fitted which was done at chorley street garage ;)

I suggested MAP sensor on this thread (or one the same some time ago) and no one takes any notice! M(ANIFOLID A(IR) P(RESSURE) sensor. get it checked fella!:clap:

Don't know where it is to be fair!!!!! the symptoms are similar to ones a mate with a focus st had. went on to find out it was the map sensor.

What are the sypmton of MAP Failer or a faultly reading map..

Also...ive checked everything to do with overboost..

Now whats left to do is the turbo(VNT vanes) and MAP sensor..
Ive searched and people say the vanes sticked and cant adjust the boost levels as they get coated in oil ect...

Is there a way to clear this?By booting it all the time?
or just as the boost climbs let of the accelrator as it drops do the same again this right?

Also just read that i can spray some stuff in to the turbo but didnt say what or were?

Is it carb cleaner?wd40?

As my car has been used for motorway driving only...hence the mileage so could be sticky VNT vanes..
Also im gonna check the Shaft 2morro wen i get in from work...take the tip iff ect...What sort of play should be in the shaft...my turbo looks the orignal 133k in
As theres a fair amount of oil in my SMIC and Charge pipes...some part worse than others(nearer the SMIC) near the blades on the turbo its got oil on it..As my AEB tip i fitted was cleaned out and when i looked at it the inside of the tip was covered in oily residue..

Also if my SMIC pipes are full of oil could the map sensor be covered in it from inside...So miss reading

right bit of an update...

the other night i was tinkering up the bonnet when mork sugusted the SMIC...anyway i took top of the engine off (pipes,charger pipes ect)and refitted the tip made it more snug....and other pipes...and Cleaned the AIT sensor and nosed around

Anyway tonight was the 1st time ive drove the car since doin that...And 1st and 2nd gear it dosnt go limp at 3krpm it goes right round the rpm...but when u go in to 3rd gear when the boost pressure is high it goes to limp but when u let off the accel pedal it used to stay in limp mode...
This time it doesnt...Just cuts back then goes limp then comes straight out of it then boost then limp...like something is holding it back...ECu cutting the boost?
Only does it wen the boost pressure and turbo is really spooling...

So for the 1st time 2night i actual felt the kick in the turbo was really weird....
So its an improvment..

Ive orderd loads more silicone pipes and some 6mm acuator and n75 pipe and pipes around that area...
So gonna try and rule out a boost leak..

the MAp sensor hasnt come yet...So im kinda gettin there :D

Just took the SMIC pipes off and theres a pool of oil leading to the SMIC the pipe from the map sensor to the inlet the rubber one..

There shouldnt be that much oil surely..

gonna take the full smic off and map housing and clean it this weekend...What can u use to cleant he SMIC out...

id say if there is that much oil then the turbo had probably gone at some point (not necessarily the one on it) and thats the cause of all the oil in the smic and pipes

if the original turbo did blow... then maybe it was replaced... perhaps with the wrong one?!?!

i know this is unlikely because of fitment issues... but not impossible

what other turbos might fit? maybe the BMW MAF was the only way to get it running with the wrong turbo?!?!

i am just speculating, and i really doubt this to be the case... but might be worth checnking it is a k03 on there

another thing ruled out if nothing else

Right today i spent

*Cleaned the top of the bay(de-greasing)
*Replaced all the vacs hoses
*Replaced Actuator hose's both to N75
*Re-fitted the Tip(made it fit better)
*Cleaned out the SMIC & pipes
*Cleaned MAP sensor and AIT senor
*Renewd EGR valve pipes
*Tightend all the Joiners(t-pieces with Cable ties)
*Checked ECU(Bone Dry/No moisture)
* Moved Air filter more over to the wing
* Check All codes again Via vagcom and only One came back(Overboost)
*Checked Shafted movement on the turbo(No movement up and down & only moves slightly in and out)

Right Its defo a K03 without a dowt as my Tip fits brillaint.
Ive also done some more Searching on other vag forums and can the Coilpack cut the boost?As it only cuts the boost when the pressure builds and then trys to hold..Also the TCL some time flickers,And it is hestiate at low rpm sometime,Pops abit from the exhaust too when you really rev it(only slightly tho)

Coilpack/spark plugs?

Anyone notice anything strange about this log?

Driving normally requesting 990mbar and your gettin 1500mbar.

Something aint right, its building boost before you do anything, wastegate is sticking or something.

Well its strange sometimes i get 0psi mode and 5psi mode...
And comes out of limp mode if i rev it like fook to about 5krpm in 2nd then il change to 3rd and preston boost is back till the rpm climbs then limp mode..

Also when im in limp mode i can put the clutch at 30mph or at any speed and give it a few revs with the clutch in and then bring the clutch out and its out of limp mode

maybe phil right maybe the wastegate is open and closeing right
