Must admit that i have also been shocked at how poor the Potenzas are on my FL FR. I appreciate that they are not cold weather tyres and after reading an article in Evo on cold / warm weather tyres the other day i must admit that i'll be entertaining specific rubber for the colder months next year.

I know that when the potenzas do need to be replaced i'll be looking at something else, at the moment i'm finding it hard to judge when i have grip and when its going to let go !

Most of the things sugested could have been the reason but I am tending to think it was down to the tyres / temperature for the tyres. The worst thing was how suddenly they let go.

the fact the tyres changed significantly from having no grip to having plenty of grip suggests an issue with the road surface rather than the car.
Water, ice, diesel, oil... etc etc
