Paul, you should definitely get it mapped, as long as your engine is healthy and a progressive well set up map is on it should be ok.
Mine used to have to be pushed really hard to get the best out of it, most airflow at about 6600rpm, now much more midrange means you dont take it as far round the clock to get the required oomph
Then look into another engine as and when they come up

Great progress, but defo get it mapped!!
Might have to drop LVSR a line as I want a new clutch and the timing belt changing!

Mate, if I do get myself off work for the day then I'll defo take you out first thing so you can do just that! :)

Really hope I can make it!

Good I'm banking on you being there!

Just read this entire RR from page 1 - 28. Girlfriend is now pissed off for being ignored for the last 2 hours but it was well worth it!! So many ideas are running through my mind now! Great write up and car!

Wow thanks for spending the time and hope its not be to hard work. Read RR is the best way to buy proven parts I still spend a lot of time reading other people's. Every day is a school day! Have you started a RR? If not get one going!

Not hard work at all and well well worth it. I haven't started one, mainly because I don't have the money to do serious changes like yourself! Just dream lol. At the moment I'm happy with my stage one LCR at 20. Hopefully this will change lol

A lot of my mods are "cheaper" alternatives of second hand parts. At stage 1 your car will be faster than mine.
If you look back to the beginning of my thread I said I wouldn't mod mine. If you start a thread now you'll find it easier to track your progress. You'll also get a lot of feed back from others that have trod the same path. :)

Ill drop them a line, although I need to save some pennies as I spent too many whilst I was away :D

You won't regret it. If you're around on the 7th of June get down to Blyton for the track day. If you don't fancy going on track you'll get chance to see some nice cars and meet a few like minded people!;)

I need to make a serious list then start racking my way through it. At the moment it has big intake, 007, stage 1 linear map, 6000k HIDs and 6000k fogs.
The list is B5 TIP, miltek, front and rear ARBs and maybe coilies. Although I'm undecided after reading your RR on what to do with the suspension! Also need a wheel and brembo refurb soon. I could go on and on. Really want an LSD as well. Then maybe FMIC and stage 2!

Every time I convince my self to stop being a girl and get my car mapped I find photos like this!

Apparently from a standard unmapped LCR. The owner took his car to a VAG sepcialist with a loud ticking from the car!
I know they're a lot of factors involved and most cars are fine but... Imagine if that had gone over taking a truck on the A15! Scary thought.

I've tracked down my spacer so will put it on soon.

It's amazing he drove into the work shop like that!

Why not put the coillies on hold and use the money to sort the rods out. Then playtime can really begin.

It's very tempting but I think I've tracked down Billstien Clubsport coilovers and adjustable top mounts for a very good price.

Edit: I've just bought KW Clubsport and I'm booked in at AKS to have them fitted, set up and also VT engine mounts at the same time. Should all be in place for the track day.

I thought I'd have a look at this dream list from a while ago and see how things are shaping up.

I was just thinking last night when I was trying to get to sleep about what I have to do to my car and what I want to do. This came after my wife found my FMIC and asked why did you buy that when you NEED brakes? Good question:whistle:
So I need to focus my limited time/money and not just go on mad ebay and fourm driven spending sprees. As I already have a few hunder pounds worth of bits to fit and there is some thing that I do NEED to spend money on!!!.
So I thought I'd put my mental list here.

What I NEED.
1 Brakes- I've decided on the Goodspeed groved front and rear disce, DS25002front pads and OEM rear pads. Change the brake fluide. Braided hoses.Check
2 Sort out the fault code 16804 here's a link to the thread I started to try and sort it out http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=337744 any help would be great thanks :confused:Check to be fitted
3 Replace the suspension- I'm stuck between KW V1 and Wietech GT Hicon? I've also had a very good quote for full polly busing. New top moutyhs and I have the polly top mount bushes.Check KW Clubsports to be fitted
4 Replace the front spiltter ans it's hanging very low and is catching on speed bumps. It also looks a mess.Check
5 the fornt tyres will need replacing before the winter.Check

Bits I've bought and need to be fitted
1 The Wellycooler, I can't wait to fit this ;)Check
2 Neuspeed front ARB will be fitted when the rest of the suspension get fitted.Check
3 LED side lights.Still not fitted
4 Replacement cup holder.Still not fitted
5 Oil cooler.Still not fitted
6 Audi TT front strut brace.Check

A few small things I want to do
1 Repaint the brake calipers ( I already have new Brembo decals)
Check
2 Tripple R composit rear defuser when they start selling it!!!.Changed my mind on these
3 225 steering wheel.Check
4 Turbo back system with sports cat.Check but with de cat
5 WMI with forge map pipe.High up on my to do list!
6 Forge carge pipe and othe hosing.Check to be fitted but not the charge pipe
7 Catch can and sort out the PVC.Check to be fitted
8 New hand brake and gear lever gaitor/gear knob from Sere motors.Have forge big knob
9 Stack boost, oil temp, oil pressure gauges and Nomad two gauge A pillar gauge holder.Check semi sorted
10 Liquide gauge.Not yet!
11 Refub the wheels and new centre caps.Just bought new wheels instead
12 New stereo.Check
13 B5 V2.2 TIP with new air filter and home made heat sheild.Check
14 Forge 008 DV.Changed my mind on this one

The bigger things I'm planning to do!
1 Forged con rod's.Getting close
2 Relentless V3 manifold.Waiting for the V4!
3 Re built large port head.Bought one just needs a rebuild
4 EBCNo need for these any more
5 Straight to custom Stage 2 map.Rods first

All I need is the time and the money. So this is going to be a very long term project:D
