I had a red one years ago too.... bloody quick.
Had a couple of comedy moments in it:
1) So light that I got about 6ft air off of Slapton canal bridge, wind caught it and landed at 45 degrees. Messy pants moment.
2) Snapped cam belt at 100mph. Put a new one on and it ran fine for the rest of its life!
3) Dropped it into 2nd at about 75mph, rev counter went right around and hit the zero peg
4) Popped a banger in the slide shut removable ash tray and pushed it over to my passenger. Blew it to bits.
5) Poured lighter fuel into the rear ash tray and lit it for a sort of candle effect, did not realise that it had a leak and both rear footwells went up. None of my mates would
help me put it out. (it survived)
6) Only car I've been done for speeding in (touch wood), average 103 over 2.5 miles.
Tough, fast, little motor
