yer i no its not the best way to clear code but i didnt have vag com or any thing else to do it so tried that and it worked.im going to take it off tomorrow and use it now and then .. it still drives ok so i dont see any harm in using it rob don runs a blow off valve

i have fitted a bailey dv26-D. bought a cold sided re-location kit and have to say it sounds nice.
im not sure about how its running at the min with the icey roads.
it seems that some cars can adapt to bits like this and some cant

how are you finding the hks ??

So the only thing wrong with fitting a BOV in stead of a recirc valve is that the Engine management light 'might' come on every now and then.....i really want a nice big loud 'tissh'.... thinking of goin for the split-r... anyone got any experience with split-r's or any other BOV???

advice very much appreciated
cheers

i had a split r for a few weeks.. kept going into limp mode no matter how i kept playing with it..
in the end i swapped it for a bailey dv30 recirc valve.
im well impressed with the bailey dv26-D valve i have on now. if i go out on my dinner i will take a vid for you its VERY loud however i have not checked for faults but even so a custom mapper can map out the sensors causing problems ( so im led to belive )

If you want a Slpit-R the best advice I can give is get it set up properly and then leave it along.
These valves DONT make alot of noise no mater how much you play around with the setting's, Although an open cone filter might help.

You need recirc to run the car properly, the ECU expects the air to come back in, the car might run lean, rich, timing could be out, loads of wee things that make the car run poorer.
you can run a full atmos DV with custom stand alone ECU.

But why? It makes no diff at all to performance, just runs the risk of ****ing up summit, ECU codes and looking like a twat cause you love the sound of a sneezing mouse under your bonnet.
Just to have it go Tish?

Run some decent boost and an open filter and you'll here it. My wee bros ibiza runs 1.5bar and a 007 with a green stuff open filter and its louder than most VAG 1.8T i've heard.

Vid will follow.

Do they make more noise than an 007p?? i want he tish noise but ont want the problems that a bov 'could' produce..... anyone got any vids of splitr's or 007p's?? just wana see if they make any difference to the noise at all....

thanks for your replies though guys....

end of the day mate its your car and its a learning curve..
aslong as the air is escaping then you aint gonna mess up anything major.. i mean norris designs run there cars with no bovs at all they just get turbo stall(chatter) and they say its safe ??!!??

the worst that can happen is limp mode which is easily sorted

so you say a stand alone ecu will let you run atmos so can a decent mapper make these sensors not work ??
