N249 bypass and now DV sounds weird!

its the flutter that worried me......may drop in midvw and get him to double check it for me any how

mine used to b well loud but it ant no more..........i rather like the flutter...........

i wonder if the n249 bypass is realy any good

Bypass is great, works a treat... actually solves some problems... flutter sounds alright, but its fluttering cos somethign isn't right.. it isn't meant to flutter...

Also Funky....why have you left the big black block on?

Ive left the black box on, as i want to keep my engine cover on and i can't be arsed with soldering electrics to trick the ECU?

or can i take the black box off anyway?

the bypass has solved the flat spot and surging i was having i think anyway......it was surging but appears to be much better now....

Black box can come off anyway mate, no issues... if you want your engine cover on you'll need to leave the black brackets etc...

hmmmm i think the leccy connector is still connector to the black box isn't it.... il have a look, it doesn't really bother me as it is tbh!

I had the same problem when i did the bypass ! some of the original vac pipes had perished so i replaced them and did the bypass at the same time ! My dv now flutters and is loud as f**k ! I spent ages messing around with the pipes and looking at other peoples pics on here trying to get a big single dump again because i thought i had done some thing wrong ! In the end i could get a big dump but the way the car boosted felt really strange and there seemed to be quite a bit of turbo lag ?? I changed the piping back so the dv flutters and the car drove a lot better, the boost was instant and it went like a bat out of hell ! I think the dv sounds the nuts now ! Like that pro drive ( subaru ) thing that was on top gear last year ! My car is not throwing any fault codes up and drives fine so am just going to leave it be !

But something isnt right if your DV is fluttering.

I really dont get how people mess this up now with some many superb photos of how to do it.
