Just noticed the 'Listers SEAT' on the plates Smurf, that your local dealer or did you buy via a broker, Listers supplied my old car, a nice experience at that :)

Looking forward to the Carbon surround picture ;)

hi andy
no not my dealership listers worchester i bought the car from get a better deal anywhere than swindon got to admit they have been brilliant so far although they are 73miles from here, hoping carbon plate will be here tomorrow if not thursday

Ah right with you now Smurf.

It was Listers Nuneaton the Golf came from, bought the car with a good discount yet they still managed flowers for the wife and on the test run told me to pull into a filling station and fill it up for the journey back home. The Midlands seems to be a bit of a hub for car deals, third visit for me.

smurf123 - Many thanks for the pics - I think the front looks perfectly matched.

As for the rear, mine is not an FR, so a different look at the back. I have a continued body colour there - montsant red - rather than a black area, so I think chrome at the back will look as good as the front on mine.

With the standard black interior rather than the grey, I like a black/red/chrome colour combination, inside and out, which my 1.2SE will give me.

Where did you buy your chrome-finish plate surrounds?

Bernard.

hi bernard got them from a market last w/end they sell them on ebay in chrome, gloss black, carbon they do hide the target points on rear valance which i doute you have being a paint finish

Hi Smurf123 - should get my car next week - am intrigued as to whether I will have these target points too. Will comment when I know. Thanks for the info.

Incidentally I have just noticed that on the Seat website simulator for a SE model, both front and rear plates are set in a chrome surround, so this is definitely the way to go in my opinion.

Hi Smurf, assuming you get the carbon ones to change over today, can you please check if you can see 4 partially exposed targets, or just two fully exposed ones. I've the inspector coming around to look at the car later, and would like to point it out if its wrong.

I quite like the surrounds and do look nice although I won't be fitting any as it's just extra weight

I used adhesive strips on my last car and they were on there for over 12 years and still solid the day I sold her.
Get some 3M stuff as the halfords jobbies wont last.

As for the pilot holes, I cant see any on the rear of mine and I assume it just depends on the guy that fits the plates on the car.

The holes on my plates are drilled quite high up where as some cars are more central..

Obviously does not make any odds really :)

Hi Guys, I was curious after reading through this thread and had a look at my rear bumper at lunch and I don't see any of these target marks at all. My number plate is also screwed on.

Keith, what did the inspector say after you showed him - did he say that it was normal to see the marks?
