Nice to see the old girl again. Still looks tidy apart from a few bits which seemed to of happened since she went..
Air Vent
Clutch cover
Crack on bumber etc.

I would definately look at getting the wheels powder coated black though, especially now the mirrors are done, which look mint by the way. It was something I was looking at doing myself, but never got round to it.
Also, if you want the callipers to look better without having them redone. I just used to put a tiny bit of bumper gel on them when cleaning and they looked a 1000 times better. Cheap alternative to getting them sprayed / re-lacquered. Just a nightmare that some do that really.

Hi Ben,

Yeah she is a looker. :D

Air Vent was done by the garage before I bought it.
I will get a new set of pedal covers in the new year I reckon.
Crack on bumper may have to wait until spring time. It's not that bad so it can wait a bit longer. I might get the wheels done at the same time.
I think the mirrors make quite a big difference as well. And there cheep as chips to do.

Thanks for the caliper tip. I was looking at going down the refurb route but I might try the gel first.
It does seem a common thing on most coloured calipers from all makes of cars. You would think they would take more care when doing them in the first place.

Just fitted the new Philips X-treme Power bulbs. Dipped and main beam were a easy. The sidelight bulb was a PITA.
I blame my big hands. :D

Still look quite yellow tbh but I'll have to wait until it gets dark later to see the results.

Took the car back to Volkscraft yesterday to check the oil leak from the head after it had been checked and cleaned from the previous time.
Result? Well it's still got a leak there :( nothing big but a leak all the same.
Matt from Volkscraft did say he could replace the gasket but still not 100% sure that it wouldn't come back.
The fact its has had a new/old head on it makes me question the quality of the head used.

Anyway I'm waiting to hear back from the garage where I bought it from to hear what they have to say about it. The warranty runs until the end of December so I want it sorted.

Just had a phone call from the garage where I bought it from and they are going to arrange to get it looked at by a VW specialised near them. So I'm glad it is being looked at.
The only problem is the guy who deals with the warranty side of things is off until next friday so I will have to wait until then.
Also I will have to make the trek upto them in Cardiff and leave it with them for a couple of days. They will be giving me a courtesy car though.

So fingers crossed. :)

Why can't they get a VW specialist close to you?
I hope there paying for your travel and car hire costs

I went to one near me. Volkscraft. I gave them the number and everything but they want to use the one near them.
They are paying for a courtesy car. But will hammer it out with the warranty guy when I speak to him.

Car booked in for the 10th Jan to be looked at. Got to drop it off myself in the morning so they can have a look at the beginning of the following week.
I asked what they planned to do with it but they didn't know until they had a look themselves.

They're not paying for travel expenses but are supplying a courtesy car. Just want it sorted once and for all.

Quick update. I drove the car to the garage last Saturday so they could have a look at the leaking oil from head issue.

Had a phone call from them today to confirm that it is a problem with the head so they are sending it away to be skimmed and tested. So happy days really. I was expecting them to come back and say they couldn't see a problem with it but sounds like there on the case.
But I will be without her for another week to 10 days :( but at least she is getting sorted. All under warranty of course. :D

Good times, do you still have their car?

Do you mean the courtesy car? Yeah it's a Corsa. Automatic. Bloody awful tbh. I've driven automatics before much smoother than this thing. Still it gets me to work and back so not too bothered.
