Looks great! Alfa Romeos have this as standard. It should have been be standard on Leons as well. I think there is already another topic on this forum where a guy described how he was able to do this on his new Leon although it didn't happen on first time and needed few tries with that VAG-COM whatever... I'd be interested how legal it is to do it and if there are any dangers of breaking something on your car, probably voiding your warranty as well.

Warranty was in my mind too - though I'm wondering if the Dealer could do it for you? I pick mine up on Tuesday so I'm wondering if they could activate it for me...

Haven't heard of anyone being arrested and charged with performing an illegal needle sweep as yet, so I think your pretty safe
As for the warranty, if your worried about it, then put it back to normal before you take it into the dealer

I have to say I'd be surprised if they didn't want to do it, I'd more expect them not knowing how to do it - though on my old Mk2 Clio it was a diagnostic feature more than anything so I'd actually think it would help you spot something wrong/going wrong.
I may drop my dealer an email tomorrow and see...

I guess they're there for dealer use and some may not be compatible with certain models so could be bad but I suppose if a dealer were to make a change they would document that they had done it and not your friend with his own kit; thereby it shouldn't invalidate the warranty.
If they say it does when they find its done then you can say they did it before you bought the car so it's their problem.

Dealer would probably not want to do it purely because it's not standard, and isn't 'tested'. For all they know the needle sweep could cause the speedometer to read 10mph less, next thing they know the customer is storming in blaming them because they got done for speeding.

It's a setting on the on board computer - If it can be set, it won't affect warranty

Simply a feature built in a m0rk says, for whatever reason they've decided not to activate it. Probably leaving it as a Cupra feature. But with VCDS it'll simply be a case of turning it on or off.
I think back to some of the earlier Mk1 Leon's they had cruise control functions built into the ECU's but no cruise stalks fitted and no option at factory. So many were then retro'd for it, bought a cruise stalk for a VW Golf, and simply switched it on in VAG COM.
This is even simpler, nothing else required, just turn on the function.

Hi i got needle sweep enabled today in a HIFI garage, specialized in VAG cars
I also got OPS enabled (i dont have front parking sensors so it was disabled before)
The guy there said he was working on the park cam system too, he said he managed to connect the cam and got some progress on the software but it only sends a black empty screen he says

I fancy the needle sweep myself, saw it working on an Audi, very nice.
That and the 'beep' on remote lock/unlock would do for me, should be standard that, having to turn your head around to catch sight of a flashing indicator is a nag of mine, listening for the audible beep makes more sense.
My last four cars have all been out the VAG stable, wish I had splashed out for VCDS at the onset. Might stick it on my Christmas want list, nobody will be any the wiser
