theres a star head screw there somewhere on each sidebut the liner holds the ends in place pretty much as there are sliding guides each side under the bumper.

Right peeps - update....

Jim @ JKM Found the boost leak. The MAP sensor does NOT need the adapter bit (its only for a different MAP sensor, seems that there are 2 types perhaps?) but the aluminium insert in the hose has been forced OUT of the hose itself. Basically on the underside of the sensor mounting (not seen in the photo) the hose has been misshaped by the mounting and upon boost it pushes the mounting further out of the hose and hence leaks. The leak has been getting worse, so it would probably have come right out in the not too distant future!

Bad news is that the car needs to stay in garage overnight (so means my cleaning/aligmnent plans will have to wait) but good news is Forge are sending out a new top hose 1st class and it should be at the garage by 10am tomorrow morning. If all goes well, I can have the car back by tomorrow lunchtime, which gives me 1/2 a day to sort out everything for VWA and TRAX this weekend.

So, hopefully, this time tomorrow I'll have my FSD's on, a fixed boost leak and a car that might drive in more of a straight line LOL!

All credit to JKM though - they look really pushed to the bone with work - sooo many cars there, and they still find time to fix my problems for me :) YAY!

i don't like it.... yet! lol...

Hopefully things will go to plan now, and I'll get my car looking as good as possible for the shows. At least I'll have my power back!

glad to see youre sorted pabs, i cant see there being two different sensors split between the 04 leon cupras though, that would mean a different intercooler too as it mates into the top of the smic. did you see for yourself or is that what you were told?

well, sods law says that i probably have a second boost leak that hasnt been found yet...lol.

Seriously, I hope it does fix it.

Brendy - I havent seen it myself but Jim knows what he's talking about - said that its totally the wrong diameter to fit the MAP sensor that I have.... like I said before I can't see it being a component missing from my install, otherwise the intercooler would have caused problems straight away, and not 2 months into having it.
No doubt I will see for myself tomorrow though. Forge sent a new adapter out to me but it hadnt arrived today, so it should be there tomorrow and I'll be able to see the difference.

oh, and by the way, my leon is technically an import, and its a 52 plate, so perhaps a slight difference due to that?

OK - its done!

New FMIC upper hose is on - and bingo! car has life again! Full on boost to suck me back into my chair! The actual MAP connector had ripped right through the side of the hose! Gaping hole!

Brendy, I can 200% say the adapter does NOT fit on my MAP sensor. I can't see why forge would design a hose that then needed an adapter for a MAP sensor anyway, so there has to be 2 different sized sensors.

So I'm a happy chappy - off to my suspension thread to say what my new kits like :)

new sensor must be smaller then as mine had a mm or two gap all round the sensor without the adapter. glad its sorted though, Im still waiting on getting mine back...

All I know is it certainly didnt fit - it was much smaller than the actual MAP sensor. So yeh, the new sensor (yours?) seems to be smaller, and require the adapter.

How long you got to wait for your car now then?

here you go pabs, here is a pic of mine as i had to take the fmic off today after getting the leon back to empty the fmic of oil, quite a lot of oil!

oh er. not good mate. Definately a different MAP sensor to me though.
Hope you get it sorted soon bud - it must be painful without your car!

well im not really without it now, just i chose to give all the pipework a total clean out as it did drive but spat out smoke when you floored it when the oil got pushed from the bottom of the intercooler up and out the exit into the engine.
