Right oh, here we go.

Picked a new car up on Saturday (straight swap for my Golf diesel) and during the test drive it felt ok. The guy drove 100miles to meet so I didnt think anything bad was wrong.

1. First of all the exhaust is far too noisy so I had planned on buying a standard 2nd hand system only to find out it was cut. I need to change the exhaust within the week so its either a non-resonated Miltek or Piper cat back. I like subtle sounding exhausts but Im not sure whether the Miltek will be too loud. Any sounds clips?
2. The gearbox is a little notchy (I thought it might be alignment) however tonight I noticed a rattling sound from the gearbox when the clutch is out. It dissappears when the clutch is in. What the hell is it and is it going to cost?
3. The standard lights are crap and full beam just illumintae the trees. Are they all like this?
4. After about 45mins of use the radio / CD looses sound then it sounds like loads on interference which cannot be adjusted by the volume. What the hell is that all about?

:help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help:

The car is great and a brilliant blend of power/practicallity but these little niggly issues will start to do my head in. Your help is appreciated.

1. what kind of exhaust does it have at the moment? is it decated?
2. if you do a search, it may explain abit more, thinks its the bearing that need replacing.
3.are the bulbs ok and are the aligned correctly, dont think they suppose to blind the birds in the trees
4.not sure as , dont have the oem head unit,

1. Exhaust looks like a Powerflow as the back silncer is very small but the tailpipe is huge. Dont think its decatted but I havent had a chance to look, the cars quite low.
2. Just been doing that, looks like th release bearing. What will happen is I leave it for a while?
3. Dipped seems fine, its the full beam thats crap.
4. OEM head with 6 CD changer.

1. you can change the xhaust bits to what ever suites you. to quite it, try repalcing it witha bigger silencer.
2. not sure
3. you may want to get them aligned . eg mot station.
4. not sure - could be playing up - may need replacing/repairing

Just checked the car and it looks like there is no CAT either. The thing was MOT'd last week so how the hell did it pass?

Does anybody have a standard cat they want to sell? Is it going to be a PITA to re-cat the car?

1. Can u get in touch with the previous owner and ask him where the hell the cat is
2. This is the thrust bearing on the clutch. Usually happens when you rest ur foot on the clutch pedal and it slightly dis engages the clutch causing the bearings to wear. Not a major problem and i would normally say just wait until the clutch starts slipping and then change both at he same time but if your finding it hard to select gears get it checked out.
3. Found the standard lights on the cupra not bad but fitted HID's on the weekend and worth every penny. Simple to fit and cheap as on ebay (i paid £70 delivered :))
4. Just invest in a new cd player fella. Have a look in the back of Max Power (Just have a look in the newsagents, will save u about £4.50 and saves u having to look at another modded saxo ;) lol) cos they are the cheapest u will find. PS they all pricematch so play one against the other and the price will drop even more.
Hope this helps
