Question: Does anyone know how long it normally takes to get a build date?

Car ordered on the 7th - still no build date at the moment - normal?

I ordered (via a leasing agent) the week before Christmas, and had a build date given to me on 5th January for 1st week in Feb.

My order went through on Jan 5th. Heard from the dealer yesterday I have a build date of week 6...2nd week in Feb

It's a shame there is no "on-line" tracking of the build, like VW provide. I'll just have to take consolation in the £7,000 less it cost.

All these build dates are encouraging, ordered my Alor Blue last Friday and estimated delivery is 10 to 12 weeks, so can't wait to get better news!

I'd have paid extra for British Racing Green, but unfortunately I think a conspiracy has wiped all traces of that colour off the face of the planet and replaced it with clown green.

As it is, I'll have the exclusive Mediterranean Blue

Hi All,

Ive just placed an order for the following spec'd car:

Leon FR 184 DSG 5Dr
Alor Blue
18" Performance Alloys
Winter Pack
Seat Sound Pack
Alcantara/Leather
Safety Pack
Navigation Pack - High

Dealer is saying around 8-12 weeks for delivery due to a factory order, however the deal was only completed today so could be soon/later - exciting times! I guess I will then have to choose to pick it up on a 65 plate or wait out for 16 plate!

Current car is an A3 S-Line 150 TDi manual with a few goodies including:
B&O Speakers (I think ill miss this option the most), Panoramic Roof, Folding Mirrors, SD-Sat Nav.

Has anyone compared the A3 to the Leon? Any thoughts? Im not overly impressed with the A3 to be brutally honest, its 3 years and while its not given me any mechanical issues its had lots of rattles from the roof and doors, they also botched my SD sat-nav install, I wouldn't say the MMI system is that good either.

Any mods people would recommend? Ive looked over the screen washer mod and I will most definitely replace the 'normal' washers, the A3 has the same type and they are rubbish! the only other thing I'm thinking is maybe dropping it by 30mm.

That'll look really nice in that colour with those alloys, I really like the Alor Blue. Looking forward to the photos!

used t have a Fiat 850 Sport (coupe) in BRG. was SOOOO pretty......rust bucket though.
Tail happy (engine over the back wheels) but looked beautiful. Just don't see them now.

I'm not sure if Mally still visits the site after getting rid of his Leon Mk3 but he'd be the best person to as in regards to leon vs a3 as he purchased an a3 as soon as he got rid of his leon. I know because I remapped it. I think there is a little more finesse in the Audi, things like zoomed in blowers etc
