How have you filled your fmic and pipes and tip with petrol? Water in the ecu is common, if you washed it thats prob what did it. Have you had a new windscreen recently at all?

What do you mean by they had the ecu? Did you send your ecu to them? Was it a chip soldered in or remap flashed onto it?

They removed and fitted as we went up, was flashed

mmm sounds like someone @ RS didnt put the windowscreen seal back on properly and it slowly filled up with water from the screen ????????

how much would seat charge for ecu?

its quite hard find one really....

I'm struggling to see how you've got fuel in your Tip and intercooler.

You haven't removed the carbon canister / ended up connecting a vac line to the fuel return?

No still have the carbon canister installed, havent changed the vac lines since had it mapped-bar from just taking me boost gauge from the manifold instead of the d/v.

Garage have tried a ecu from one off their cars and they say me car runs fine......

I really cant see how petrol has got there tho, unless it was just flooding the engine and the fuel was getting pushed back into the engine via the valves but surly then it would go through the exhaust valve, not inlet?

New ecu was about £1k from the dealer last time somebody looked into it I think.

It will be when you washed it that it got wet. We all know its a common problem with mk3 Ibizas. Im sure they will reflash whatever ecu you get for free but I will be surprised if they pay for or get you a new ecu.

Still do not understand how you have filled your intercooler and pipes aswell as tip with petrol. You really need to figure out how that happened.

Running rich with injectors held open the fuel will literally run out of your exhaust.

he said at first that it wasnt possible at first as i got a second hand ecu and that it would be paired and immoberlized to a different car, but im sure the garage my car is at is pairing the ecu to my car....

Easy to pair to your car with Vag Com etc.

out of curiosity wasnt there something forge made then you put around the ecu from stopping this happening?
