Did you read this at all? From what I can gather it seems the problem is that coolant is getting into the tip and intercooler pipes because of leaking turbo seals. If this isnt a problem with the turbo I dont know what is...especially if it has ruined his engine! If this is the problem the mechanical issue with the engine has been caused by the turbo. This makes it VERY relevant where it has come from.

did you read what I had said as well:rolleyes: UNLESS it is PROVEN to be the turbo

both of us are shooting in the dark until proven, hence why I put that statement in
 
Yes I did read exactly what you said and it comes across as saying that from the symptoms its mechanical and the turbo could not be to blame (unless otherwise proven). Thats pretty bias one way if you ask me when everything in the thread points to the turbo more than likely being at fault for the coolant getting into the tip and intercooler.

what work did you have carried out on the turbo i.e. 360 thrust bearing etc?
 
Could be the water jacket is cracked. Were you getting much smoke out the exhaust?
 
well, just starting trying stip it down with the tools ive got-lol, then going get it on a low loaded on monday to take it to me local tuning garage and hope for the best,

but it doesnt look good, looks like when ive switched me engine off the aux water pump pumped water into the intake system filling all me pipes etc....
 
o bollox, so its basically like you've driven through a big puddle :(
 
lol, me 2, erm it was the RS6 internals used-carnt remember everything though but theres the list on danny-lads thread where it states what cr turbo's used,

one other thing that i carnt get my head around with emtying the tip, intercooler ect.... if its coolant why it isnt bright pink....? its clear and stinks of petrol...? why petrol?
 
This is what i had done to my turbo....

''Mark says'' I would plan to use the shaft, CHRA, and comp wheel from the Audi RS6 turbo, this gives us the largest combination of wheels in the K04 range, we then machine out your Turbine housing to make the shaft fit, we take the comp cover from a larger turbo eg Audi TT then weld the elbow from yours on to it so the actuator fits and to keep the turbo pipework fitting as original.

i get that sometimes, not just on this post, and i cant 'post quick reply' but i think thats to do with software on the crappy work computer i'm using
 
coolant level is still in between min and max in bottle, been like that for 2 days....?

So why do you think its coolant as you mentioned earlier? Was it at that level before the problem or have you only looked after? Difference between min and max wouldnt be enough to fill your intercooler and pipes.
 
The coolant level has been dropping down every so often and the warning light bleeps so ive topped it up- there was steam coming from the turbo during this time so i thought one of the water lines to the turbo must be loose, but know thinking about it this has happened in the past 3 weeks or so, so i dont think in that time water has been creeping into my intake system,

everthing happened at one time, car was driving fine yesterday...got in the car about 2 hours later after cleaning it, drove couple hundred yards and it started juddering with the eml flashing fast, smoke was coming from exhaust and kept cutting out, but within the mile i drove when the eml light went out it ran fine.....so im guessing when it was either stood there or when i put the ignition on it must off filled the pipes up.....?
