Once the induction is clear of water, maybe a compression test to see if all seems sound cylinder-wise?
dont blame you mate, could be costly though, but if its turbo could you not make CR turbos pay for it all as its there fault maybe?

hi bud i,ve had mine 3 weeks.
on way home from purchasing an started judderin an smoke.
all 4 bores was scored not sayin ur,s is just might be.
showed no faults on scan.
i,ve ad to get new engine.
fingers crossed ur,s somethin silly.
compression test showed 40/80/90/50 instead of 140 on each
Was your turbo fromCR Turbo's aswell? This has got me wondering if it's worth the hastle for mine.............

it has nothing to do with the turbo or where it has come from, this statement is irrelevant (unless it proves to be the turbo directly which has caused the failure)
BUT it seems so far from the symptoms, that it is a mechanical issue with the engine not the turbo.
