Hello SEATCupra.net

Following a test drive (impossible to find one until the local dealer popped up with one - even SEAT UK didn't know they had one), new 105 PSI DSG SE ordered and now at stage 20
(sounds great implying 1-19 accomplished but actually it goes from 10 to 20 in one hop!)

Great pricing, great tech and good drive persuaded me that this is the one.

May I ask some qs which I have not found on the forum:
1 Are floor mats included? Mats in the Golf are extra like most things.
2 Are there any online manuals available anywhere?
3 Can SEAT drivers use the 3 years worth of free map updates for the identical VW Discover Media system? Anyone tried

And some observations:
1 Apart from red (was white) why do you have to pay extra for paint. Could you ask for it without any?
2 Yes, I beat DtD by a £500 margin.
3 Have taken out the servicing only plan. A quote of £11pcm for 3 years added to the 0% finance is cheaper than the current fixed pricing totaling £536

Look forward to your views.

To attempt to answer your questions

1) Floor mats are standard on the SE, not sure about other specs.

2) No idea. Why do you need one before you get the car.

3) No idea, use a £90 Garmin,absolutely love it.

With regards to your observations

1) All manufacturers charge extra for metallic paint on run of the mill cars. Sometimes its standard on special editions but unless you are buying a prestige top of the range car it will always be charged for. You can ask for anything but you might still have to pay. But look on the bright side, at least solid white is £0 on a Leon, VW charge £200 for solid white on a Golf.

2) You did well to beat DtD's price. The broker I used was virtually the same price but they did PX's and their Seat dealer was much closer. Our local dealer would not knock a single £ off and still only offered basic trade in on my old car.

3) I took out the service plan, good value at £10.91 a month for 3 years (34 payments actually). Way cheaper than paying for the individual services.

Thanks Skidpan,
1 Floor mats for the SE : Yay
2 Online manuals are much more flexible than hard copy. Pays to search while you wait. Do you know of any sites?
3 Still unanswered challenge.

Obs
1 I know really but what can you say? It used to be red, black, white and a blue were "free". Not any more
2 The dealer started off like that too: "we can give you a hundred or so". My target is always to get a total discount equivalent to or greater than the VAT. They need the monthly bonus on total sales. So it is doable if you are persistent at the right time. Strange that some will not play the game. They are the losers.
3 Agreed I think my plan was 10.99 to be precise. It's got to be serviced after all.

Red is now the free colour and white is £175, it was the other way around but they changed it for some reason. Alor blue was £475 as per metalic colours but thats now been made custom palet and is £690 iirc. We wanted the Alor blue but not at that price!!! Got red instread.

"It used to be red, black, white and a blue were "free". Not any more"

Yes I was going back a long way to when cars came with free paint from the factory:D

The VW discover pro system is completely different to the one in the mk3 leon, whilst it looks similar on the bit you see, its not the same unit or units
I have the map updates for the mk7 golf but I don't think they will work on the mk3 leon
