Took the Leon Cupra 20VT in today for a service and got told the following:

4 new bulbs : £30
wiper linkage gone (i knew this) : £150
exhaust bracket cracked
offside undershield broke : £80
engine maintenence light on : £50 to look at it. (This wasnt on when i took it in...)
clutch needs lubing : £22
brake fluid : £65
New disks and pads at rear : £268
new front wipers : £17
offside CV boot cracked : £180

and £169 for the service

absolutely f@cking brilliant!

Do most of it yourself wel the easy stuff wipers brakes etc £300.00 for disk and pads on the back is a joke there about £60.00 to supply from a motor factors!

i would if i knew how willbatch. I would probably end up braking the brakes :)

Those are totally ridiculous prices. Excuse me for saying as you are fairly new, but this is a legitimate post and not someone out to damage the company?

Don't get me wrong. If you really have been quoted these sums it's a p*ss take.

I've totted it up and it's £1031 for the lot...and they want to charge you £30 for bulbs...and £80 for offside undertray?!!

£65 brake fluid.... WTF did they use their entire stock in ur car????

I wouldn't be paying that mate and if i had to.... i'd put £65 worth of brake fluid over the managers car!!

 ouch. Is there any where else you could take it to get the rest of the work done? Alot of those prices do seem a little extreme to say the least.

Sounds outrageous, but then its a VW dealer not Seat, and their labour charges are that much more. For example, I had the brake fluid changed in my LCR with the 30k service and the Seat dealer charged me £47. Reasonable enough in my mind for not start messing about with it myself.

I'd take my business elsewhere if I were you, prioritise what needs doing and work your way through via a Seat dealer or an decent local independant.

30 quid for bulbs is crazy
rear brakes i had similar dealer quote, picked up discs and pads from motorfactor for 60 then paid 40 for them all fitted-100 all done

Seat in MK charge £72.00 + VAT - i doubt that's much less than VW, possibly more. If the car is out of warranty, it's independant specialists all the way.

As above though, that seems like an incredibly steep bill!

I hope that price includes a kiss, because it sounds like you're getting f****d.
