I was pleasantly suprised with these pics. Assuming that they are true to what's actually going to be built. However, the front grille looks hideous! And, as quite a few people have said, it looks like an Alfa 147 from behind (including those 'hidden' rear door handles). Not a bad effort though.

Also whats the likelyhood of a hot (ie with those bumpers and those wheels) diesel version?

Going on the Premise that the Golf GTI will be getting a powerful diesel (at least 160 horses worth) then a powerful diesel is very likely.

Cost, well I guess you'll be looking at least Cupra R money for the 2.0 litre FSI turbo version, given the cost of the engine in A3 and GTi cars.

Any from the actual show with the covers off yet? or will that have to wait until the public days?

Scott

There are plenty on SEAT Media, however im pretty busy at work, so my 2nd job has taken a backburner. :p

I'll stick more pics up later on the cupra.net web page report.

Hmmmmmmmm, things have just got interesting. Come on dealers, time to start DEALING on the outgoing Leon. :)

I'm only new to the site. Well impressed with these pictures.
Has anyone seen any release dates for engine size yet? I wonder if an FR model will be released with the standard range?

Now this I like!

However, I'd like to see what the everyday car is going to look like...you know, the one without the sporty styling and with some 15" steelies before I make up my mind properly!

mark my words, thats the silver ones in the links in the main article

Its not a bad looking car. But as the Altea Concept that looked great, its probably gonna be tonned down to a dull looking car as the Altea is now!

Does anyone know when the official date of the proper Leon?
I can see the std models looking a lot different with less flash bumpers and wheels.

Dealer launch will be May, so the dates & launch model info will be about then

but expect 6 months from now for most models

Barcelona then. That's quicker than usual, but considering the car is looking pretty polished as a Prototype not surprising.

I think they've sat on the model for some time

lots more 'info' and key shots that were otherwise missing from previous launches (that I can recall)
