Telford ay it...
Decided sticking a screw driver through it is not the best option anymore.

Whats everyones weapon of choice come oil change time??? Need to buy a tool but unsure what would be best as the 8v is abit tight round the filter area.

The 8v has bags of room around the filter, I used a chain oil filter wrench on mine. Try a 20vt on an Ibiza for tight around the oil filter!

chain wrench for me to..... works a treat if you can get a good tight grip on the filter.....

other one I've used is a normal socket wrench on the 'nut' on the end of the filter... only works if the filter's been fitted with a little bit of oil on the seal, and therefore isn't as tight as a nuns what-sit !!!! ;)

I used that helfrauds tool as linkned above on my 1.8T, worked a treat, Forgot to put oil on the seal though:doh: , Hopfully shouldnt be too bad to get off as i change the oil every 5k! come to think of it its in the dealers for the next oil change as its service time so its there problem!:D
