Oil Light on Dash

hey guys picked my new ibiza 1.4, up yesterday and was happily driving it home until (beep beep beep) and flashing red light with oil squirter logo came up, i checked my oil it was low so boguth some and filled it up, still having problem with the light tho it seams to come on when i go up hills more than anything else and when the engine temp is at 90 degrees.

anybody got any help or suggestions on what it might be?

Sounds like oil starvation.

Wrong in a few ways.

We dont have an oil level sensor, and if it was to beep at you for an oil problem then it would be for oil pressure.

3 beeps and exclamation mark = brake fluid

3 beeps and red flashing lights on coolant temp = low coolant.

3 beeps and red flashing lights on coolant temp = low coolant. i think i need to replace temp sensor as oil is fine topped it up yesterday nd checked again three times today with no change

It depends on the light that's flashing. The coolant issue only applies if the red light flashes within the temp gauge on the dash, not the oil light.

its the one in the big cluster of lights in the centre of the dial setup

So what symbol does it show? Oil? Exclamation mark?

Oil light flashing seems to indicate low oil pressure, commonly caused by a blocked oil strainer in the sump

got the problem sorted took it back to the dealership i bought my car from they put it through a code reader and replaced the faulty part works fine now and it was FREE as well lol
