Hi,

I have the oil warning light flash and beep three times, it seems to be pretty random. I have checked oil serval times, changed filter and changed oil.

I now think it's the sensor or oil pressure, any advise to check either?

I have now stopped driving the car until I can resolve the issue?

is it possible you are mistaking the coolant warning light for oil?

Can you confirm if its a red light in the temperature gauge which is top left of the dash and sits at 90 when engine is warm? or actually the oil light?

Thanks guys,

It's defo the oil light in the centre of the dash, it flashes RED and beeps three or four times, I checked the manual a few weeks back, all it says if I can remember correct.

Red perament = check level

Red Flashing= check level if the warning continues, there is a Pressure fault or sensor level.

Yellow perament=oil level indicator is faulty

Yellow flashing= oil level to low, check

I have never seen a yellow light, so I think this is different on various models as the points seem to duplicate.

I have a 2004 lcr 225 and I also have this problem, i did an oil and filter change this weekend and everything was fine for 200 or so miles and then on the drive home yesterday the yellow light came on and has stayed on. I have checked the oil level and it is fine and the car drives as it should with no problems. I am thinking oil level sensor/indicator, anyone have any ideas. Also where is this located?

I went to a garage this morning and explained my problem regarding the yellow oil light and i was advised to drive home and disconnect the battery for 10 minuites and then reconnect. If the reset has not worked this should reset it. So that is what i did and it has worked! I haven't driven anywhere yet but the light is now off. So far so good, will let you's know if it stays off on the drive to work! :)

DO NOT drive the car if the red oil light flashes, and you hear a beep. Low oil pressure - possibly oil pump gone. I made that fateful mistake xmas day, and may have caused terminal engine damage to my LC

Don't worry she's been parked up for 2 weeks al get a pump ordered when daves back.

Oh lee while I remember. Got told about an oil feed pipe chocking up is it better to replace or can you clean it and is the anything else I should change while am at it.

Don't want to start a new thread for this so I shall ask here. Hopefully lee69 can direct me in the right direction. Dave from sere as sent me the oil pressure switch for me to try seen as its only a Tenner and the pumps £100.

Now for the question where is the pressure sensor located and I presume I can do this myself.

It wont be the pump!

Im willing to bet my house on it being a blocked pick up pipe

Drop oil
Sump off
Pickup pipe off
Pickup pipe cleaned out
Pickup pipe back on
Sump on with sealant
New oil
Good as new

It's under the inlet manifold
