3 coats of base including each wetsanded.and 3 coats of laquer. Ive got the bonnet and boot nice and shiny but doors are alot duller.... still abit of orange peel in it. I only used 3000 grit all over the car mind you, you think the doors need another light run over with 2000 and a polish with g6 then final polish with foam pad ?

Yeah go for it, I only had 1.5 coats of lacquer on mine so you may need to go at it a fair bit more than me..... would say go over the doors again yeah. You want them to be a kind of cloudy matt colour when it dries out after cutting back.

Ye. I will hopefully get the shine out of the doors and it will be sorted. Got bumpers ready and arches. should be done very soon . Cant wait to start the modding

With this sort of thing I think it's best to do lots and little rather than too much too quick and find you can't go back...

Also a question... my power steering failed b4 in my drive and the battery went dead (while the car was running ) possible duff battery ?

cheers lads , guess I was lucky in some ways getting it cheap. Its not perfect but its going to be a nice car. Managed to insure it last night so its ready for mot on friday. so will upload pics of it together and then some of it wetsanded and polished too

Passed mot fine . Come across a problem though .... The top boost pipe keeps popping off under any acceleration. Is there any fixes or aftermarket sections I could buy ?

It's not perfect but it's come up good. Saved me a fair few bob. Just needs a good inside clean and few bits and bobs fixing

Get the boost pipe roller beaded. Then replace the OEM silicone with 3/4 ply stuff and use a T-Bolt clamp to tighten it. Will never come off
