good to see the old girls still going strong! glad you're enjoying it!

Still kinda miss that car, but have now got something that, dare i say it, is MORE fun than the Ibiza was. maybe not as fast in a straight line (well not until about 24 hours time anyway) but is like a go-kart round corners!

good to see you're looking after it too! let me know next time you're down around Winchester area and maybe have a catch up?

ed

come on ed spill the beans then...................

can you not see his avatar or his signature? lol

Cheers Ed - car still going strong, and has been MUCH improved as you can see :) - Suspension is great, brakes are even better now too!

It got another clean this weekend, so is looking sparkly after all the snow. I need to invest in some more wax, and still need to sort out the engine cover bracket.

Ed - you wouldn't know where the bracket support that I've mentioned previously went, do you? Seems it's been removed, no idea why really!

Would still have it back in an instant i tell you! Glad you look after her so well!

Re: the bracket - I have a vague memory of the lovely people of Kings Seat mentioning removing a bracket when i had a go at them for the original engine cover fouling the strut brace. Think they removed it as it 'was no longer needed'. I wont lie, I was very hungover that day and for all I know they could have said they removed a badger from the tailpipe, as I wasnt really that with it! Sorry Bud

Breezapom - come up and visit us Winchester/Chandlers Ford lot some time and you can see the new beast first hand, before it goes in for a few underbonnet 'changes' anyway!

Again, far too long since my last update, but better late than never I suppose!

Managed to get around to fit the strut brace last weekend. Piece of cake to install, and it doesn't rub/foul on anything other than the engine cover. I'm going to cut the engine cover when I get some time, and get it refitted.

Personally, think it looks great in black - blends in nicely without looking like a modification. Just what I wanted!

A few pics:

Well still finances hold me back from doing any more to my car, but further investigation into the boost issue has found that putting a green spring into the forge dv, instead of the yellow one, has helped to reduce the effect of the boost problem.

It's still there, but less strong. I think I'm going to do the N249 bypass (again) now that I'm on the green spring, and also try an MBC in place of the N75 and see what happens.

It would seem that I have 2 perfectly good N75 valves sat here, so will fling them on Ebay soon to help recoup some funds :)

Well today the piece I've been looking for arrived :)

BIG THANKS TO SPANNY - who sent me his engine cover bracket that my car was missing! My engine cover is now secured properly, doesn't foul the strut brace since trimming the cover either.

Result!
I also think I'll be looking at an MBC soon to replace the N75 - and see how the car drives.

Will update more when back from hols, but a few little bits are progressing nicely at the moment!

Got a new stereo to go in as I'm sick of the lack of MP3's, and I'm also planning my boost gauge and MBC installs, which will hopefully assist me in finding the boost issues.

And finally, with some good weather, I hope to get out and about in the sunshine for some decent up-to-date pics of the car :)

Cheers Mike.

No development on the boost issue yet - just not had time or money to look at it. I'm going to remove the N75 (leave connected electrically) and get an MBC - see what happens. The boost gauge is to help find the issue and to help me set up the MBC properly.

If that doesn't solve it, then I'm back to the drawing board - possibly getting hoses checked out and/or replaced, probably starting with the hose that runs from the N75 to the wastegate.
