I've got an 03 lcr in yellow, the paint's not bad at all, just a little bit really, but I've found that polishing it with autoglym super resin polish, then sealing the paint with high gloss paint sealer, and then waxing it with a good carnauba based wax (I use dodo juice, they do one that's specifically formulated for yellow and orange cars), has helped wonders!! I'm planning to clay it in a few weeks too!!

I did clay mine a few months ago and it did bring up the paint finish but not the colour match although like i said for a 01 its not to bad and after a polish it looks a lot better.
If i can find a 05/06 in yellow then i will go for it again but the best i have seen so far is red.

I'm sure they're out there fella!! And as for black, lovely colour, but after having a black golf vr6 as my last car, I'm not having black ever again!! The amount of stonechips I picked up were ridiculous!! Also I have heard that black is actually the softest paint, so will mark easier anyway!!
Good hunting dude!!:funk:

Phil. My opinion is that unless you are a great detailer with a pc black shows up scratches. I've never really liked the yellow and come on you have done that and it looks like an lcr. Red may have the same fade problems but really not as common. Get your self a good uv wax.

I went for red as its eye catching and you don't see many. I was going for platinum.

Cheers Nev, Only looks like a LCR from the front ;) i am really torn between the Red or Yellow what it will come down to is, IF i can find a Yellow car of the age i want, so far i have seen a couple of red ones so if when i am ready to buy thats all i can find then it will be a red one. :D

Black is too popular. I really really wanted a black one when I was buying an LCR (03 Facelift 210's) but because they are so popular, they are normally higher mileage than some other colours. For instance, I couldn't find a black one with less then 40,000 on it, yet for the same price I found my yellow one with under 20,000 and it had the 1st major service done before I bought it, despite the low mileage.

No doubt, black looks good but I think I got a better deal.

Anyway, once you start UV protecting, you won't need to worry so much. Since I bought the car a year ago, the paint is much deeper & shinier than it's 1st day with me. My cleaning routine comprises of:

- a wash once a week
- a spray on Quick Detailer between washes
- carnauba wax every 3-4 weeks
- the works every 3-4 months (shampoo, clay, shampoo, paint cleaner, polish, glaze, sealant x2, wax x2, quick detailer)

Use a PH balanced shampoo too as it won't strip off your wax that gives you that u.v protection.

The above goes for red too :)

IMO, Yellow or Red to be different.

Holy merde - surely life's too short for all that hassle?! (Bet your car looks good, though.:D)

IMHO: black, yellow or red for looks; silver or platinum for practicality.

Lol, to do the full lot it takes about 6hours + cleaning and polishing the inside + cleaning the engine bay. I have spent whole weekends on it before now but you're right, it looks amazing. It hurts my eyes in the sunlight :D
