got my spray form halfords. had to get 3 x ovni yellow spray, 1 x laquer and 1 x Pimer. Spent about 40 quid on paint. expensive but worth it. took about 5 -6 hours to do mine. was a well hot day. dried in no time.

Yeah did mine in a scorching day too!

I found that Halfrauds paint wasnt a good match thats why i want them doing again, as i did the bottoms of the bumpers with some mixed specific at a paint place in town.

Saying that red is a bstard to get right!

Yeah, got my soverign (red metallic) at Halfords also, probably why it doesn't match then.....

Theres a paint supplier in town, think i'll give them a ring on monday, see what they can offer me.

Hmmm I've thought about doing this but I've decided it just isn't worth it, the paint just doesn't stand up to the elements, even with 3 layers of laquer my door lock blanking plate on my Golf looked like cr@p after a year or two, can't imagine what the rubbing strip would look like !

Where the heck do you live?!
I live in snowy/salty Norway and my side strips and blanking plate are still looking like they did two yrs ago.

Did mine too last week:

Got myself a new primered set from the stealer and spraypainted those with an aerosol. 3 layers of paint and 3 layers of lacqer.

Peeling off the old adhesive sticky cr@p was one hell of a job but in the end it was worthwile.

Haven't done the bumpstrips (yet) as i'm looking for facelift bumpers.

price not correct though they are alot more now like i said about £20/£25 each rears are slightly cheaper

Has anyone found the bumper strips smoothed and primed? These part numbers are for the door strips, I haven't seen any for the strips in the bumpers, which also have that textured finish

Weird thing with my mouldings.

My rear Bumpers ones that were Black when i bought the car are smooth, not textured, and the front bumper ones are textured.

Now, ive tried to ask the dealer for smooth Black ones and they say they dont do them....?!
