I used this seller myself not really knowing at the time which were the best brands. But to be honest it gave a good finish and 6 months on theres no sign of and flaking or bubbling etc. I think as long as you take your time and do a good job you cant really go wrong whichever one you use.
Looking at mine now I think I could have taken more time but I got impatient . I might do mine again but go for a different colour!

Am i cracking up or are people going to the far end of a fart for a really simple job? B&Q is your friend. Hammerite FTW;)

i got a small tin of Hammerite Smooth (Smoothrite) and there was enough to do my beeza and my Dad's Bora!

must admit i did the Bora better ... my four ended up being practice. had it about right by the 5th caliper!

think im gona do mine this weekend. its a good look! how many layers would u put on? iv seen peoples flake off to is that because they wernt using the right stuff?

I used hammerite the first time round when mine were read, but now I've done them bright blue, I used engine lacquer. MUCH better finish and a lot thicker coating too.

I didnt even go to the expensive of buying Hammerite! i just bought some cheap "Hammerite" copy carnt remember what it was called ,got it in a Vrs green and did 2 coats

1 year later still looking good ,but i have decided im going to strip them and re-do them either red or yellow for next summer as the green is bit boring now

It tells you on the tin how many coats to do, you will prob need a wire brush to clean all the rust off first too.

Wire brush? Because it works! (obscure reference alert)

As for polishing them there was a baby blue Mk2 Golf a few years back with chromed callipers (and everything else) it did well in show and shine but you knew from looking at it it was never going to be driven right again.
