Mint day. Got up, went to stealers for oil (gold synta 5W40 for future ref), went to halfrauds for antifreeze (pink stuff). Went home. Called Saul "get yer ass over here". Wired up rad fans, installed ECU, added 7.5L oil to sump tank. Watched Turkish GP Qualli. Saul arrives. Plugs out, spin engine over on battery till oil lines primed and oil coming out of sender hole on back of head. Fit plugs, check coolant.

Right then, moment of truth. Turn key. Fires immediately :D :funk: first time. Result. Warm it up, loads of steam coming out of exhaust from water that must still be in there from when it blew up. Bits of engine coming out also, valve seat, bit of piston......Runs fine, bit rich perhaps but to be expected from Dyno map. Warm it up fully and turn off. 2 stubby beers for the lads  Let it cool down.

When cool, start again and let warm up. Saul craps himself as engine 'coughs' some fuel out and bangs on startup LOL. Lot less steam this time so exhaust dry now. Run up till rad fans kick in - damn good fans, (Spal) shift a lot of air.

Job done. Try and get it in this week for 'engine in car' map to be installed and will need some RR time to tweak for more power expected than last engine.

To be continued.....(cheers to Saul again for help, he has some vid that may be coming up later)

nice one m8
you must be well happy

yes :D

needs some induction system tweeks now though. Options:
1. go with original plan and make an airbox with panel filter in front, solid mount under slam panel and connect to this with spiral reinforced pipe or samco, pipe connectors on TB's
2. as above but simply solidly mount a dome filter - saves making an airbox
3. have dome filter fastened to engine - means I need 35 degree 45mm ID bends - Saul is on the case - will check out the SF ones you have but I dont think they are going to work, 45 degrees might be too much and SF's are going to need adaptors on both ends (at £19 each !) to fit to DCOE body / DCOE rampipe

OR

5. Leave it like it is with some bits of ali sheet to direct air towards the filter
6. Try convert to DCOE bodies.....maybe 48's.....

Chat tomorrow

Cheers

Can saul get some dairy pipe swept bends to use of suitable size? Add some flange bases to the DTH bodies and step out the rest of it as is?
