I didn't say diesels can't perform.
You can have a fast diesel, but not a performance diesel. They just aren't built for it. They don't have the rev range.
No doubt the diesel fanbois will tell us how their better MPG and torque makes diesel superior, but I personally prefer a usable rev range of more than 200rpm, and not to hit the redline at 5100 rpm.
Anyway, let's not start a debate, I was being facetious!
