Q about the air box induction tube

The long tubing/pipe that runs from the airbox and connects to the bumper(just above the S badge on the front grill). What would happen if i uncliped this pipe from the bumper( it only slots in ).- have tried it and getter slightly better induction roar...

i would assume any tubing is supposed to be there and should be left in place

it would mean you would be sucking in more hot air from the engine bay, and not the cooler outside air, so a bit of a negative effect on performance.
