Thanks guys!

S3 carriers BUT i had to state that my car is FWD, so maybe they were "adapted" to fit (maybe spacers?).
Your best bet is to get them from FWD cars, like VW Golf mk4 1.8T, Seat Leon Cupra R, Octavia vRS.

A small break from vacations and back to tuning...
AEM boost and EGT gauges installed in the center air vents. My number one concern was the functionality of the vents, so I chose to go with the OSIR pods (originally meant for the mk2 TT), which we had to change a little bit for a right fit.

We chose to get our readings from the dp.

During the day, the gauges have a very soft light. In the evening when you turn the lights on, the light gets gradually stronger, and when you switch them off, the gauges dim back to their softer light.

I really like the result and most of all that the functionality of the air vents remains intact. ^_^

Queen I fitted my gauges the other day when you turn your car on and leave it running at idle does your boost gauge show a negative figure or a 0, mine shows 0 it goes up when hitting boost if yours goes negative could you post a picture of where you've put your Tpeace to take the reading from the turbo please.

Yes, it shows -0.7 bar.
The spot is very tight to take a photo but I can tell you that it is connected to the air intake, there is a small hose that goes to the dv.
Sorry that I can't be of more help to you but I didn't connect it myself, the shop did!

Its ok mate ive done it now I found an line on the top of the ebgine going to the intake manifold. An shockingly mine was done by a garage they just connected to an intake vacuum straight off the turbo mines no running about 1.3bar of vacuum. Thanks for the help tho

Finally dyno'd. Roughly 265hp, 25hp more than stage 2 which explains the 2.5 car lengths that I gained in the 50-180kph roll.
Results as expected with the Revo stage 2 tune on a hybrid.
Custom tune here I come! Should be able to gain at least another 10bhp with much better power band.

Thanks! I'm happy as far as the tune goes because it's just a stage 2 tune, not one especially made for a hybrid setup. The power curves suck big time which is my main focus now. I'm not after a certain number but I want my car to be smooth, with power gains in every gear throughout the power band. Right now until 150kph it goes just like a stage 2, those 25hp more show above that speed. That's why I'm leaving Revo for a custom tune.

Very nice queen, not having any problems with it running that much power?

Thanks, no problems. Here we have hybrids with custom tunes making 280bhp or more running strong.

bloody hell. I noticed no gain on the dyno with my loba upgrade, think its down to the actuator setting they used to it works like oem until you electronically change the map. You should be good for a 270-275 which is awesome. Hopfully im good for another 10bhp. Just be careful. I would get the map developed, dyno the car then de-tune it to be safe. Its the pistons i would worry about. But good luck, hope you get some good results

GREAT CAR MATE!! looking for some info, how did your car run stage 2 with the induction kit, tbe and intercooler? did you have any problems with dsg and misfires? These are the mods i have done and about to upgrade the spark plug before i go stage 2, worried as to how the car will hold at stage 2. cheers

I'm not after any numbers, I basically want a fatter curve throughout the rev range. Oh and the tuner I'll be going with has a dsg map developed as well, which will go on my car along with the tune. Thanks!

that's a nice motor

:)

Thanks!! No problems at all. Yes, the ngk bkr7eix spark plugs are spot on for our cars. When you go stage 2 make sure to log the car with vcds to see if you have any misfires etc.
One more thing that I do is that I occasionally check the spark plugs, their condition says a lot about the engine's health.

just one on this last post, recommend bkr8eix on hybrid setup as they are a little colder than the 7s. Less prone to misfires. Good luck with your tuning, let me know what happens

Yes, thanks, my tuner recommended 8s or 9s when I change them. For now we'll shorten the gap.
I did have some random misfires when we're logging to improve the map (exhaust gas warning light came on once in 10 runs), one misfire on each cylinder.
What about the coils? Do you recommend changing them? I've heard of the okada plasma but I don't have any reviews, they're quite pricey, are they worth it?

the okada coil packs help a lot. Car seems more eager and keen to rev. From testing other people have done, the okada coils don't really affect high rpm misfires, only mid rpm. Its the exhaust ports in the block and also valve springs that affect the high rpm.

Hmm, so for now I don't change mine, I'll think about it when my coils start to go. (I still can't believe their price- better start saving now)

I went for a custom tune, as I'd said, Overload Performance, gaining about 35bhp, hitting the 300 mark BUT the car started suffering from mid to high rpm misfires due to soft valve springs. So we detuned the car to 1 bar redline which is my safe line for misfires, waiting for the stiffer valve springs made by Supertech so I can run higher boost (1.4 bar redline).

Meanwhile I decided to spruce up my engine bay and fitted custom carbon ram air type intake, carbon heat shield and a bigger pipercross filter (C0177). We also fitted the exhaust check valve back to its original place on the intake.

The mod was done by the same shop that tunes my car together with Defsta Carbon. Everything was done from scratch, they made a mould for every part. They now offer the whole carbon intake package ready for the ibiza cupra dsg that have the battery in the engine bay.
I also changed my coils with the uprated by BERU.

Something I forgot to write about, I also have a custom Overload DSG tune and it's fantastic!
Launch control rocks (7speed DSG comes without LC), the car launches so hard, it shifts the moment you hit the paddle, as it needed around 200rpm before until the actual shift, it shifts 2 times faster.

We need to do a few tweaks so it shifts into 2nd gear automatically because right now it revs till redline and doesn't shift until it finds some grip.
