people, GSF sell MAF for £29.50, brand new and they recommend it, is it worth buying?

I wouldn't waste my money on second rate MAFs. Only fit a Bosch exchange item.

And exactly what do you know about MAFs eh ;)

Ive heard people buying cheap MAFS and then buying a Bosch unit as this one failed, i suppose you take your chance,

DPJ.... have * ever used a new £29.50 MAF!...shouldnt new run longer than refurbs?

Not trying to hijack the thread but mine seems sluggish recently. Was ok at first after I disconnected the battery when I cleaned my dynatwist, it was like a rocket for a week or so then gradually seems to have got slower. Car still under warranty so will I still get away with unplugging it to see if it goes better like fahafiz's. Also Dave, you think i'll get it changed on warranty if i've got induction kit on? and does it sound like maf is knackered?

Wouldn't recommend the cheap MAFs from GSF. The one I tried died within a day. Phoned GSF and they did give me a refund, but also mentioned that they'd had an unbelievable number of these returned to them. Bought a Bosch one and all is good.

When I unplugged mine and drove last night the traction control warning light came on and stayed on until I plugged it back in and turned ignition off for 5 mins. Is this normal? Seemed to be faster with unplugged, will have to find someone with vagcom to check it out properly.

Yes that is normal. You have just removed quite a vital sensor from the engine, so it's just warning you about that.
