This week I have remembered that what if I break down and need to be towed? As the IC piping is in the way of the toe bolt hole. So I squashed that area of the piping so I can now access the toe hole. But do you think squashing the pipe in one area will effect boost?

As I put my foot down it boosts to 0.6bar then drops down to 0.55 when the revs get higher? The cars pulls well but not quite as well as before. I wouldn't have imagined squashing one area of the pipe would cause this? What's also different is before, I could hear this high pitch whistle ALL the way up the revs, now if I floor it the whistle disappears and all I can hear is the engine roar? The whistle disappears and the boost drops very slightly.

So is it likely squashing the piping about 2 inch wide and 1 inch inwards would restrict boost in this way. The piping itself is 2.5 inch standard

The only other two things I changed was a couple silicon hoses from the dump valve to the turbo outlet side and the dump valve vaccum hose on the top. I also realised I had been running the DV with the trumpet pointing sideways instead of upwards so changed that around.

Pleeeeeeease provide your thoughts
Thanks

squashing any pipes isnt a good thing imo.

just get picked up on a loader if you break down....

My bumper is too low to get on a loader surely? :(

Do you think this would explain the sudden, small drop in boost when the revs pick up?

Yeah Ad, yours is definitely blocked mate lol

Oh mine doesn't peak boost anymore which is weird, just goes straight to 0.6 then drops slightly to 0.55 when the revs increase

So we saying the squashed pipe is restricting the turbo and therefore pushes boost down?

Standard boost is 9-10 psi on a LC

I'll have a look at mind Dan, I'll fabricate something up so I can have a towing eye of some sort and take some pictures for you :)

have you vagcommed it mate maybe worth checking your dv also

What would I need to do to VAG com it mate, I've got the freeware version if that helps.

I checked my DV when I fitted it other way round, cleaned out the piston and checked the spring length, all ok :)

Maybe I should replace the pipework and mount the IC lower so that the pipe isn't squashed, and the toe hole can be accessed.

To be honest when would you ever need towing anywhere? every time I've been recovered I've always been on a flat bed.....never been towed.

Do you think you'd be able to get on a flat bed mate considering how long your bumper is?

Yeah this used to go on a flat bed....just

not sure if the freeware lets you log boost and n75 duty cycle.

youd need to do this to see requested boost vs actual boost.
